It looks strange, but I could watch the 2 second clip of Jessica Alba belly-dancing from the commercial ALL DAY.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Saw this last night. I enjoyed it. I wish the storylines could have been more related. Lots of blood and violence and even boobies (but not rosaria's or jessica's unfortunately)

I recommend people go see it. This movie could have been elevated to one of the better movies i've ever seen if the separate storylines were intertwined in someway other than they happen in the same "city".

And Josh Hartnett's character is cool, we need more info on him =)

    Go see it now...

If you watch closely you will notice a few times where they screwed up their graphic blood stuff. There was a time where one of the characters had blood all over his mouth/lip area and it would intermittently vanish - nothing that would detract or would even notice unless you were really paying attention.

Dear god... that was a phenominal movie. A bit of gore there but I am a fan of that kind of thing from time to time. Highly impressed all the way through, except for Britney Murphy. Honestly, between her and Halle Berry I honestly don't think Hollywood gives a damn about females when it comes to acting. It's about their looks. But I thought Alba did a great job acting and looked SMOKING while doing it. God I love her... now if they can just insert another actress over Murphy...

I also heard this was the first movie to FULLY be filmed in HD. Very interesting!

    Okay....

The DVD comes out next Tuesday, ***BUT*** it's one of those bare bones DVDs where the good release comes out 2 months later. May be worth just the rental and then the buy later on when the good version comes out. There's a lot to these stories and they get split up more and have some of the stuff that was cut in the expanded version of the DVD.

I think I'll end up buying both, which is exactly what the movie industry wants me to do. :(

You have the option of watching each individual story line seperate from one another like three mini-movies as it was originally intended. It will also aparently contains footage not seen in the theatrical version of the film. I've also heard that the SE may NOT include the theatrical version of the film...which will bait people to get the other. There are also no commentary tracks on the bare bones release.

I'm sure there will be a lot of cool stuff on the SE, but since it's not being produced right this second details are sketchy. It is a clear cut case of trying to double dip and I do think it's a little deceptive. More power to them, but it only forces the die hards to either A) Shell out more money or B) Wait a hell of a lot longer to get a copy of one of their favorite movies.

When they release the extended versions months after their original release of bare bones dvd's, are the extended versions sold at full price or marked down like their fairly inexpensive initial offering?

They don't normally sell them for $14.99, but more like $24.99 or so. I don't think they consider it a new release anymore.

    Sin 2 Sets January Shoot

Director Robert Rodriguez told SCI FI Wire that he and graphic novelist Frank Miller plan to begin shooting Sin City 2 starting in January 2006, even though a cast and a script are not yet finalized.

"Let's see, Sin City 2 we'll be starting to shoot that in January, which means our preproduction will start in February," Rodriguez joked during interviews for his upcoming children's film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. He pointed out that he had no script for the first movie, but instead used Miller's actual graphic novels as storyboards and dialogue when shooting. He said he expected to do the same this time around, because the dialogue in the books is so concise it doesn't need to be rewritten.

"We will shoot A Dame to Kill For next, and maybe something else," Rodriguez said, referring to the second volume of Miller's Sin City series. "And I don't have the cast set, not yet."

Right now, Rodriguez said that he's working on the special DVD edition of the first Sin City, which is scheduled for release just before Christmas. He said the DVD will divide the movie into its three graphic-novel stories, with some extra footage. "You'll be able to see each story separately," he said. "You can watch Yellow ****, Big Fat Kill or Hard Goodbye, and there's a lot of behind-the-scenes featurettes being planned." One of his regular inclusions on his DVDs is a recipe, and this time he revealed that it will be Sin City breakfast tacos. "Too many people go to the dark side and go to the store and get store-bought tacos," he said. "This is my grandmothers' recipe with flour tortillas. The DVD will have a lot of cool stuff."
