As long as it's a high quality cable , brand here I found doesn't make any difference. I have used Kimber Kable , Transparent , Monster and even a cheap one from Mitsubishi (which was the worse out of the bunch)

Monsters Optical cables are well built. Pro Solutions also makes a nice optical cable.

Go with the cable that gives the most snug fit. I find that some that are too small, almost fall out when touched or moved around.
This is suppose to be a universal fitting, but brands vary.

I can't check right now because the shop is under maintainance, but I think the "newsletter" coupon for 30% off should still work. But if not, it's still only $53 and they ship for free. 90 day satisfaction guarantee. Great build quality...

thanks for the link. I went ahead and ordered one from the guy.... from the reviews his cables have gotten.. it sounds like it would be worth a try. Cost seemed reasonable too.

The series utilize glass fiber optic conductors and precision connectors to reduce digital jitter for a dramatic upgrade over conventional toslink optical cables, which utilize plastic fiber optic conductors. Glass fiber optic transmission allows superior high resolution, amazing clarity reproduction, ultra spatial effects and dynamic impact. It's ideal for use with DVD, DVD Audio, SACD, CD, D-VHS, game console, S/PDIF, Dolby DigitalR and DTSR professional audio applications.
ARE YOU SERIOUS? I'm not really sure I'd trust a guy who doesn't even know how to hook up electronics... but that's just me.
