For those of you who are trying to figure this thread out, Sid has been commissioned to make some DIY speaker cabinets for me for a pair of full range drivers (Fostex FE166E).

    Rock on, Sid.

I'm glad you like that... LOL, it was interesting to put something up that didnt have AmpraSid infront of it...

But, all I ask is for is finished pictures, and a review of build quality and sound, more importantly, build quality...

    UMM...

NO, because I am going to seal those things down to where it would be almost impossible to have an air leak, and they are right on the mark with internal volume...

    No reason it should :)

Fostex wouldnt recomend a bad enclosure design I dont think...

Everything about these speakers are going to be precise I hope, I am getting a drill press circle cutter thing (the two knives that spin) - so exact cuts on the driver cut out and port holes. The terminal holes will be manually cut, but thats no problem...

Like I said, these SHOULD look like they came from a factory...

    Test Baffle...

Ok, today was sucky - I planned to use a drill press to cut these holes, but the 'knife cutter' the teacher had only extender out to 2 inches, and since that didnt work - I really didnt feel like having a knife swing around me to cut anything else...

The part the holes are cut on is not the color of the wood, I used a piece I messed up on to cut the test baffle...

here it is, the port hole is slightly to small, so i will have to alter it (and remember to bring the port) Monday...

Aaaahhhh...birch. It'll look real nice with a few coats of stain.

Do your peers think you're crazy for taking pictures of your wood and posting them on the Internet?
