Ron Artest

Is this guy the dumbest human ever? Quite possibly. He asked for a month off to work on promotion for his rap album and he said he doesn't need the NBA.

His coach Rick Carlisle said that Artest "compromised the integrity of the team". He asked reporters what "integrity" meant, and he wasn't joking! He also doesn't know the meaning of team. He was benched for two games.

Wow, more insanity from Artest. Maybe I will update this every week. Artest fouls Ben Wallace of the Pistons hard. Big Ben grabs Ron's neck and shoves him, and all hell brakes loose.

This just happened so I dont have a link. The fans were being jerks throwing drinks on him, but players should never go into stands. It only makes a bad situation worse. Artest, Jackson and O'Neal went into the stands to beat on the Detroit fans. I saw Ron hit at least 3 fans and he has a pretty decent straight right for a basketball player. The best since Chris Childs (is that the right guy?) hit Kobe Bryant in the jaw.

There will be suspensions-a-plenty for probably Ben Wallace and half the Pacers team. I dont remember anything like this happening in an NBA game before. Did anyone see the game?

What's the expression I am looking for?...oh yeah, be careful what you wish for. Good ol' Ronny boy has a clear schedule for the rest of the season.

He might start to miss those million dollar checks every month. Good luck with the rap career Ron.

Ever been to a football game? Lots of stuff flies around, and ya get hit. Or there are the drunks that fall on you, splatter puke on you, or whatever. Its happened a ton of times to me, but I never thought about swinging.

Then again, basketball players aren't wearing any helmets or pads, nor in football stadiums can a fan get out of his seat and walk right onto the playing floor. They are a bit more removed than during a basketball game.

Mutated Cro-Magnons on the court, and in the stands. Cro-Magnons view these contests, making it possible for the courted Cro-Magnons to get multi-million dollar paychecks.

What the FU*K DO YOU EXPECT when these animals are deified, paid MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars, get paid MORE millions of dollars to show up on MY tv hawking ****, and the only F*CKING thing they have ever learned is how to bounce a ball, and throw it through a hoop? Stop paying to go see them. Stop paying to wear a shirt or jacket with their names on them. STOP F*CKING CRYING UNTIL YOU DO!

I laugh when most of you guys call this **** "sports".

And not to mention what Bryant did and still gets to play. What a bunch of over paid baby asses. For the money they get they should have to sit there and get kicked by the fans when someone feels the need.

Kobe did what most men would do if they could get away with it. Get a shot of A*s with out getting caught by his wife. She was there at her own will and had no damn reason to be at his room at 2a.m. anyway. Looking at the photo of her, he was stupid for taking a risk with "Duck" anyway. When you got all of that money, you are a target anyway.

What Ron Artest did was very wrong, but, I can't promise you guys that I would not have done the same after getting choked for a hard foul, and then some **** throws a beer in my face for no reason! Hard fouls are a part of the game. Both guys were being Pus*ies and should be punished. The other guys (O'neal and Jackson) should have grabbed Artest and dragged his **** out of there. It is too late for that now His **** will miss out on 5.5 million in salary loss for that brawl. I think the total wages loss to the Pacer team was approximately 10 million bucks. Dumb Asses!

If I made as much money as Artest I could take a lot more than a beer in the face...

He didn't get choked either, but I digress. I'm pretty sure Wallace would have beat the living snot out of Artest. He's a monster.

And if you are going to charge into the stand make sure you get the right guy.

I hope that is not true.

Wallace could destroy anyone in the NBA if he wanted to. He's a freak.

In general, I am not an NBA fan either (although I follow it and most other sports) but I am a basketball fan and play whenever I get the chance.
Even though the NBA is filled with athletic freaks who lack real basketball fundamentals, and not to mention social skills, there are some really good players I like watching like Steve Nash, Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki.

Artest was wrong either way, and he is paying for it dearly. He should have kept his cool, and let the powers that be do their job. This should have never happened.

The music industry, particularly the rap segment, stopped requiring talent about 20 years ago. Its all about image now. Guys just have to look and act "hard" and thuggish and girls just have to look and act whorish. Although, I suspect that most of them do not have to "act" the part.

That may be true, even for the general population! There are quite a few people out there that have done time, even for a small crime like a DUI. Me personally, I have never served a day behind bars. A lot of people have been locked up for petty crimes but, this doesn't make them a felon if the crime was not a felony.

A felony is a felony. Severity doesn't mean a thing because it's a serious charge either way. A misdemeanor is a misdemeanor. 40% of the NBA is supposedly convicted felons, unless the info I'm getting is wrong. I find that to be a bit disturbing and quite indicitive of the brawl last Friday.

i probably wouldve hit him too
from playing sports in high school i can tell you football is DIRTY and EXTREMELY competitive, at least where i live
if i was playing a sport that was my JOB, i would get highly emotional--and if someone threw something at me in the back of the head theres a damn good possibility that if i knew who hit me, i would hit them back-but i wouldnt hit someone if i didnt know who
but if he hit the person that hit him--more power to him

This is kind of off subject but I still think its hilarious.

It was the Gollotta v Bo fight (I think) and when the brawl broke out you could hear Larry somebody and George Foreman (the announcers) talking. Then you hear somebody yelling and George saying "dont try it son. Im telling you dont.......{scuffle scuffle}".

A few minutes later the camera goes back to Larry and George and Larry looks all haggard and shaken and George is putting his headphones back on and smiling. Later, on the news you got what happened.

Some punk decided he was going to come over there and whoop ol' Larry somebody just for being there and George saw him coming and told him to back off. When the punk got there and grabbed Larry, Big Bad George got up and laid the smack down on his candy ****!!! After thrashing this guy and sending him on his way he sat back down.

This goes down as one of the all time greatest sports moments to me.

I guess it just goes to show, it doesnt matter how friendly you seem on tv and how much you smile, when youre 6'5", 275 lbs and former heavyweight champ, you aint someone to be trifled with. George is the man!

^^^The only people who really know what happened are Kobe and the accuser. You sound like a typical close-minded white guy (not all) who happens to feed into the steretype of black men willing to do anything to get a white woman. Do you really think that a multi-millionaire star athlete with good looks would have a hard time getting a willing participant? There's definitely a chance that he did what he was accused of but there's just as equal a chance that he didn't do it. The point is that we will never know. Be easy on the knee-jerk assumptions.
