I agree with sid - went from the PSW1200 to the PB2+ and thier is no compatition. The SVS is deeper, cleaner and much more pressure/spl.........

Thinking about trying one myself..It looks like it would be easy to build, just wonder about the performance..

If you can great good deals and make a really inexpensive DIY sub and know what your doing - i say go for it. Many companys send the box and all - just a matter of assembly.

The problem is i have read about some of these DIY's (especially cylinders) and I believe pride and a waste of time and money get into the way of how the unit actually sounds, and then compared to what.

My PB2+ is a fairly expensive but considering that the drivers are $300 each, the amp and the box itself - I'm not sure I could have put one together with same performance and price not to mention service and warrenty.........

    Tecmo,

Check out the EZ sub Shiva kit from www.creativesound.ca It is passive so you need to add a plate amp, about 250W+ should do it. The performance should be great, do a search on the Shiva driver from www.adireaudio.com
