Ferrofluid is the least of the problems with a torn dome and burnt voice coil.
Buy two tweeters, save the working tweeter for a spare.

Got it. I'm just trying to economize. I got the speakers for 70 usd off FB, so spending 60 bucks on 1 tweeter to me seems unreasonable. I will probably just wait for someone to list a model that has same tweeter on fb. I saw another rt800i last week going for 75 USD, so I should be able to get an rt800/600/55i etc for around 60 hopefully and just take the tweeters from there
  • Update: I found a pair of rt55's (not i model) for 110 usd final price in my area. Worth it for the tweeters? They have the original gray tri-lam tweeters from the pictures, but I'm not sure what model #. Worth buying and them seller the leftover stuff for parts?

Like this. Given the stock metal plate jumpers came off, it's ok to do a bare wire jumper like this right? If I had some money I would just buy the banana plug ones, but I'm a broke student ;(

    Thanks again everyone
