Borrow Velodyne remote

I know it’s a long shot but I just purchased a Velodyne DD12 this week and wanted to see if anyone had a compatible remote I could borrow?

I’m in the DFW area and can bring the sub to you. I just want to use it once to set everything to default.
Setup:

2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

Any chance you have a working Harmony remote? The Velodyne DD-12 is in their database.

Hit me up , I have 2 of them. I think I would have to ship one to you as I live in PA and I honestly don't know where DFW is, it would be better to just spell it out for us older folk LOL. This remote I would want back after you are all done but that kinda sucks as what if you need it again? I have 2 DD10 Plus subwoofers.

Hey just adding to my response. I'm a dealer for Universal Remote control. We can discuss a full Programmed Universal remote you can control your DD 12 and anything else in your system that you may not have the factory remote for.

Harmony would have been an option and possibly still is but they closed shop a while ago and the only remote that is DIY that is worth a damn which is a stretch IMO is the Sophia Baton. That is NOT a recommendation from me, it's just what is on the market, I'm not a fan at all.

I'm sure the younger generation fully understood that but it went right over my old **** head. I would have never figured that out.

You are young at heart, Dan. I can tell, and FWIW (for what it’s worth) you don’t look “old” at all in that superb photo with the Mustang convertible driving the twisties. 😉

Thanks, my wife would agree, I'm just a big kid playing with toys LOL. I actually made her stomach a bit queasy how I drove that road at first. I had to back off a bit , and honestly after the first time through, I felt a little disoriented as it's madness. That amount of turns in 11 miles is insane. I had a ton of fun though. I did it twice

Thanks guys I do have a harmony remote and will try that out. I’ll update you guys if it works or not.

I think the remote once to set everything to defaults would be good for now. I got the sub extremely cheap but it didn’t come with the remote or the mic accessories. Even without everything I’m really enjoying the sub so far. I wouldn’t be able to afford it anytime soon if I didn’t get lucky with the deal.

I saw some kits on ebay that I may get one day but they don’t come with the remote.

The DD 12 is a serious Subwoofer and IF you had the Mic and the remote, it makes it that much more.

As a backup, I have the entire kit (remote, mic, mic cord and a/v cords) I’d be willing to let you use to get your calibration done (I actually have three of them - 2xDD18 and a DD12, but they are all the same kit). Just let me know…

Thanks guys for the help and the offers. I was able to get the harmony working partially. The menu button doesn’t work but luckily they provided a second way which worked. I changed the EQ preset and reset to defaults.

daddyjt that would be awesome if I could borrow the kit to calibrate it one time.

I’m looking forward to hear what it’s afterwards. It’s already better than my previous subs. I had a REL strata ii which was good but it doesn’t shake the room. I didn’t know it was a top tier sub until after buying it. I didn’t do much reading about them since they were always out of reach.

This sub seems to be great at both movies and music. I’m a happy camper at the moment.

Definitely get a remote and calibration mic for that puppy.

I read in another thread where you posted you got that thing almost free? You lucky devil.

The Velodyne DDxx+ series is no joke. I have a 10, and I'm profoundly pleased with it.

I love the remote for tweaks between albums or genres.

That thing hits like it's integrated into my floor. Accurate, fast, and authoritative. I have two subs that have allowed me to experience bass texture and nuance in low frequencies in music. The DD10+ is one of them.

It was first apparent to me during a typically congesting passage of the track Ted, Just Admit It... by Jane's Addiction. It normally just sounded like a jumbled mess when everything comes back in after a brief pause, but with the DD10+ and also a MartinLogan Abyss, there was this repeatable whoa factor.

It would be nice to have a pair for sure. I have it in my bedroom for now and it’s doing a good job. But yeah I somehow got it for $60 on nextdoor. They had another listing for a cheap receiver for $120. So not sure how they got their setup.

I didn’t realize how good it was until after I bought it. I was using a REL Strata II but this subwoofer sounds just as good for music plus make the room shake.
