Agreed Ivan - we have 88 octane at most stations here in UT, but it’s 40-50 cents more than regular 85 octane. They call it “clear gas” (blue pump handle), and I use it exclusively in all my small engine power equipment, and I put it in my truck that sits for long stretches now that I have a company car.
All my small motors get 93 octane 100% gas here. Until a few years ago I was unaware that the mountain region had way different octane ratings in their gas due to altitude.

Ive been adding acetone for years.
The molecule has multiple benefits.
It is a liquid propane with it's own double bonded oxygen so adding it to petrol increases high altitude combustion.
But the main reason is relieves all the H-H bonding between all various hydrocarbons, providing complete combustion.
I changed my plugs at 100k miles on both my GDI engines and the piston tops were spotless.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

I don't know about all that. My little towns altitude starts at 2600ft and we have 93 oct.

Weird winter we've had so far. Warm, cold, warm, cold..... Wicked storms in the south and tons of rain out west.

With this many warm days this winter, I've gotten a lot done outside. My work days are about 4 hours long. Retirement and old age combined are nice. I did work 5.5 hrs. on the front door removal, and the new door was installed 80% yesterday.
This week I started the replacement of my 73-year-old front door. I knew it would be challenging, so I waited till my hands healed from digging on that tight side of the barn shed, and then my body also recovered from carrying that door into my house.
I forgot, I had a cold for a week too before I started. Not bad, but I was very weak. The more I work on this door swap, the stronger I become.
3 beautiful partial days on the door swap now. Believe me, it's been a challenge, though.
The darn electric bill jumped up a lot, even with all these warm days mixed in.

Interesting, do you know if acetone increases octane?
Ever have any issues with dissolving seals or gaskets in the fuel system? It's a solvent yes?
May be something tolook into when turning up the boost in the soup.
When running C-16 I can only get about 500 miles before my O2 sensors go caput.

Acetone is 3 carbon backbone molecule. Octane is 8 carbon backbone. At 4oz/10 gallon petrol there is not enough free acetone to do any seal damage. I ran it in my carbeurated XS1100's and big bore bikes for years especially going to higher altitude rides. The octane rating is usually misunderstood as the rating is based on percentage of iso-octane conc. of petrol that determines burn rate and predetonation prevention in newer high compression engines.
