Carbon fiber is wonderful stuff until you use it on a submarine and go look at the Titanic. Suddenly you find it's limitations rather quickly...

Their ears should have known better. First time I heard that sound? I'd be headed right back up to the surface, never to enter that sub again. The owner was a criminal fool.

On the last dive, yes. They had plenty of warning before that dive. And the way they stored it over the winter was insane.

Yep… I watched both recent docs on the Titan. It was doomed from the time the idea formed in Stockton Rush’s head to do this. Sadly one of the kindest people in the Titanic community lost his life, and his knowledge can never be replaced. On the last dive, yes. They had plenty of warning before that dive. They must be searching for By-tor...
Fun fact:Rush's road manager Howard Ungerleider came up with the title at a party. There were two dogs at the party, one a German shepherd and the other a tiny white nervous dog. Howard used to call the shepherd By-Tor because anyone that walked into the house was bitten. The other dog was a snow-dog (white). So from that night on Howard called the pair of dogs "By-Tor and the Snow Dog." The dogs belonged to Rush's manager. -
When I first saw that pic, I thought Alex was Peter Frampton.

I have an example of the Sony TC-777 R to R; none of that other stuff, though.
Actually -- which Mac tuner is that? I do have an MR-67 -- I think the one in the photo's probably an MR-65.
The Mac preamp is a C-11, I think.
Not sure about the turntable.
EDIT: As far as the loudspeakers -- those thin-line loudspeakers were all the rage for a few years in the early 1960s. Literally everybody offered several models. I mean literally everyone... well... almost.
Fisher did, Scott, too I think. Most of the big US names (although not Mac, AFAIK). Radio Shack, Lafayette, and Allied all did. EDIT^2 Do I espy a "!" label (see below) on those loudspeakers?
JBL offered a few different thin-cabinet loudspeaker models in those days, too!
They had drivers like the JBL LE8A fullrange, and, in at least some models, passive radiators, too!

Oh. at a closer look at the photo - the turntable appears to be a Weathers; no idea which precise model. The Weathers tts, arms, and cartridges were all... interesting. Quite different design philosophies for all three relative to the status quo of the era.
A random internet photo of a semi-randomly selected Weathers (ML-66A).
