Damaged RTi6

Newbie here. Looks like I fried the HF drivers in my RTi6 speakers. No sound from them. One gives no continuity with meter. The other reads 3.7 ohms. I don’t get a voltage on the HF output to drivers. Main drivers sound fine and I can measure output on those leads. So maybe I fried the HF side of crossovers? This worth fixing myself? I’ll probably need 2 HF drivers and…no idea for the electronics. Thoughts?

  • Probably the first place to begin is to contact Polk at: 1-800-377-7655 and find out what replacement parts are available and the cost. Sounds as though you need a crossover and a tweeter. Most of the time crossovers can be repaired as long as the circuit board hasn't been severely damaged. A photo of the crossover with no high frequency output might let us spot the faulty component.

There is a pair of RIT6's on Facebook in the Lower Bucks county PA area. I think it was $160 for the pair in Cherry. Might want to check that out
