Hello everyone,
Had a nice night at the Drag Strip. Pulled a nice 12.0 @ 113.7 MPH which was pretty good. I'm super close to pulled a 11.99 Run with a stock car. I only ran Drag Radials and that was it, the rest of the car is factory stock.
I was car number 2335 , the Explorer was worked a bit and ran very well at 12.9.
Check it out, this was the last run of the night. My son filmed it.

Nice run. Have you played around with any tuning software yet?

The only things I'm gonna do to it until it's out of warranty is bolt on stuff. Once I hit the 11's I'll probably stop modifying it. I'm looking for a 11.5 - 11.9.

That's haulin the groceries! Congrats! It truly amazing running 12.0's in a 2 ton car. I know you're in warranty, a little tune and get that thing to breathe a little better, you should have no problems dipping into the 11's. When you see the second yellow light, let her rip.See my profile for list of gear.

Mantis is right. When you start forking with tuning and performance, you have to start upgrading everything in the chain when your racing
Most upgrades usually void warranties $$...$$....$$$2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

I've been drag racing since the 80's . I know how to cut a good light. I could care less about reaction time as I'm practicing my Launch. The car can Spin my Drag Radials pretty easy so I have to re think my Wheel and tire setup. Most guys drop to a 17 or 18 inch wheel 10 inches wide and run a 305 or 315 wide tire Drag Radial or Slick. The Hell cat guys run slicks.

I'm Test N tuning the car so Reaction times don't mean anything to me. If I was bracket Racing I would work the tree. As I said above I've been racing at the Drag Strip since the 80's.Dan

Kinda sucks as a Tune would really dial the car in for the up coming Mod's I'm gonna do. I'd love to change the cam, get long tube headers etc but I'm not risking my warranty. You can race it all you want under warranty.
Mod's I have a JLT Series II CAI system. I took it off for the Track as I wanted to see what the car can do totally stock just on a tire. But I'm not sure I'm gonna use it as I'm probably gonna do a Hellcat Lower Air box and Front inlet tube. This is a nice mod that looks factory stock because you use factory Hellcat parts. That and with a Hell cat drop in Air filter , that should be good for anything I do aferwards.
Next Mod will be a Throttle Body . very small gain but a gain nonetheless.
I'm gonna look into Long tube Headers but if that voids my warranty, I will not to that.
The Exhaust is already a hellcat SRT Exhaust so I don't need to do anything there. There is no power to be gained by messing with it not to mention it sounds incredible stock.
The Tire and rim combo I select next will be the key to launching the car right. Once that is achieved then Reaction time will come into play for practice If I can get the car perfectly consistent , I'll bracket race.
The rest of my mod's are my own, not sharing LOL.Dan

All good but you have to upgrade the rear end and drive shaft or it all falls apart2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

I don't think it's worth the effort to go through all that madness. Warranty is warranty and the dealer can decide to challenge that when you mod your car. They can twist and turn all they want and make you jump through hoops to get your car serviced. I'm not willing to do all that.
I think if you want to fully mod your car, then buy used without a warranty or if you have the money to buy new, forgo the warranty and mod the hell out of it.
I'm not rich and can't afford to fix my car due to damaging it modding it. So I stay in my lane, enjoy what it has to offer, look for safe mod's and stay there. Running 12.0 in the 1/4 already is fun enough. But the racer in me want's to at least beat that time with a 11.99 pass.Dan
