Yes, me again. 🙂
Looking for a set. They will probably be more ht than music. Not stuck on a brand. Appx. $400 would be my price. Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin area. I don't mind making a drive for the right pair.

bookies all dayDan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
For HT, how about the S20s?
Or are you looking for something better?
I wonder how those SVS speakers are for TV...
I agree though, large bookshelf speakers, and a sub.I disabled signatures. -
If you could stretch your budget another $200: https://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/192839/ascend-acoustics-speakers

Thanks. I'm sure they're awesome but I'm in downgrade mode. Locally there are some Energy C9's, Rti10's and NHT 2.5i's I'm contemplating. Anyone heard any of these?

Always hear good things about NHT speakers in general"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963)

Another option for you Dave....

I'm not a tower guy for SAF reasons, but I have owned the Energy c3s (big ole bookie versions of those C9s) and really liked them, and lots of NHT bookies. Based on my experience, the NHTs are going to be a bit more refined sounding, but also a little tamer than the energys. The NHT's are going to have much tighter bass, while the energys tend to be a little lose. Energys would probably be my choice for pure HT, teh NHT's for a dual purpose setup...I would stay away from the polks.
I know he doesn't come around much these days, but @steveinaz I think still owns similar energy towers and the C3s...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Damn, Dan. For another hundred...... lol -
I've been really happy with my new S20's. Play way above their price point imo. Fit and finish is nice as well. They are big though.
Shown on top of my sub for size reference.

He’s a flipper so who knows if there might be flexibility in that price."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

The Energy's are gone, but those C-9's REMAIN an old favorite of mine. Would love to hear the RC-70's. I have the PSB Imagine T2's now, and while I do like them--they still are a little too laid back. I like a more forward presentation.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
How forward are they, Steve? Less than rti's?

Late to the party on this BUT I have a pair of AR 302’s.....large 3-way bookshelves, Ken Kantor (of NHT fame) redesign of the iconic AR-5.
If there is interest, I would be happy to discuss...I plan for the future. - F1Nut
