What kind of metal are those stock jumpers made of?

Anyone ever conduct an A/B test of stock jumpers vs. DIY or a branded set of jumpers? Results?

PW and Willow -- what were your results when you switched out the stock jumpers? Was it improved highs, better soundstage, more detail...??? Or did you notice any improvement at all?

I've noticed the highs and to a lesser extent the mids seem to suffer somewhat when using the flat jumpers and plugging the speaker wires into the low terminals. The differences are less noticeable when the speaker wires are plugged into the upper terminals which is where I prefer to have them even with better jumpers.

I also swapped out the stock brass jumpers with some 12 AWG DIY jobbies on my RTi70's.

I noticed a bit more "air" in the treble. That is a hard thing to explain, but the treble is more "trebley" if that makes sense. It does not mean the treble is just louder, but more clear & crisp.

Thanks for your feedback. Looks like getting jumpers is worth pursuing once the Lsi7's arrive.

It's very easy to make your own ... just get some banana's and/or spades from ratshack or monster and some 12 or 10 awg speaker wire.

And add some black & red heat shrink tubing for the finished look.

Not interested in making my own. I'll just buy 'em. They're inexpensive.

    Early,
Stock Jumper replacement is a very good upgrade. I have replaced all the jumpers on my lsi speakers that use single wire input. Noticable improvement over stock. My mains I went back to bi wire. We give the customers that purchase speakers from us the option of better jumpers. The jumpers we build is Monster Cable Z1 with M1000 spade ends. You can build good jumpers for a reasonable price! Great improvment little cost! Now waht improvment would I gain if I replaced the speaker cable in the speaker & the cable from the binding post to the xover with better wire? That will be the next tweak!
