PSW 505 suddenly not working

Hello all,

So for the last few months, I've been experiencing a weird bumping sound from the speaker at higher volumes, but didn't really worry about it since it was infrequent. Recently I went to moving the subwoofer around and upon plugging it back in, I'm getting no sound output despite no changes being made.

Power light is always green, no matter what mode I switch it to (seems dim though), and I've tried plugging it in as a speaker to the input as well as doing a simple finger dab test on the one end of the wire while plugged into the sub at low volume and am getting no feedback at all. I'm thinking it could possibly be the wire, but I'm hoping to get some expert opinion before I go wasting money on one. Could it also be the amp? It seems odd that there's no changing of the light when I switch from On to Auto or to Standby.

Thanks for you time and I look forward to your suggestions.

Sounds like the amp failed. If you want to continue using that sub, you might want to call Polk and see if they can repair it. You would remove the plate amp and send it in for repair.

Aside from verifying that all your connections are good, I'd suspect the power supply board has a fault.
