I've been a big fan for a long time, and her new album is fantastic so far (about halfway through).

I've only listened on ear buds via Spotify while I'm working, but I'm excited to get this one on a decent system. Lots of funky percussion and mastering by Bob Ludwig throughout, so hopefully this recording will scale up well. Either way, I expect to be putting in a lot of time with this album.

    Geez I haven't heard her name since when she first came out and then faded away. I had no idea she was still in the business. I'm not a huge fan but I thought some of her stuff was good.
    Heavy Balloons is the only song so far I like and not by much. For me personally I think it's to alternative.
    I previewed the album and I had a hard time getting through it.

    She's always working on something, occasionally putting out half written songs on social media here and there. But with no official releases and no touring for ages, I was thinking this rumored album might never see the light of day.
    Too alternative is a fair critique. I think that's a main part of my draw to it.

    I saw her in concert on the Extraordinary Machine album. Great show. She is a very interesting person. I did not know she had a new album so I will check it out. Thanks!

    I find her really fascinating. She's a complicated personality and she's been through a lot.

    Saw this article recently and it clued me in to her backstory in ways that I had been naive of.

    I remember seeing her on A Prairie Home Companion/Live from Here fairly shortly (I think!) after Chris Thiele took over as host -- I was surprised by how waiflike she seemed -- but she was pretty darned good, too.

    PS Her early hit Criminal is a great, and great sounding, recording! :)
