Marantz, Quarantined, Upgrade...

Okay sometime ago I almost pulled the trigger on a MM8807 and a SR7013, and putting my Pioneer, and Emotiva XPA-3 to bed..

Well now with us being quarantined for the most part I am thinking about pulling the trigger on these, and picking them up from Listen Up today, I would think these would be a nice upgrade from what I have been using, and hey a little fun for me this weekend.. 😃

A little distraction if you will..

What?! Not one S-video output?! What a piece of carp! I suggest you box them back up and send directly to me! I’ll even help with shipping charges.

I do like that the AVR has two places to put your dongle! That’ll be nice during this time of lockdown.

those are some really nice looking gears. Congratulations and Enjoy. When time permits, please post your thoughts on that 7 channel amp. I have always been curious about Marantz amps.

Well done! I have a SR6011 that I've been listening to for the past couple of years and found it to be a great A/V receiver. Excellent build quality also. That's a nice combo you got there. Enjoy!!!

@Toolfan66 You take that back right now! And see if they got an AVR with balanced outs. Do they even make em? I think I saw a Yamaha that had them for the L/R only.

Tell me no, tell the class what else you have in your setup.

I'm wondering why you didn't just get a pre/pro if you were already getting the amp?

The expense of the Pre Pro and I would need another AMP as well as more cables, Trust me I wanted to..

Edit: ok the Pre Pro would have been the same but it still would have cost me more in the end..

The AV7705 pre/pro is the same price as that receiver.
However if it was all of the channels of amplification that you needed..............

An AVR yes, But not a PrePro, that’s why I went with an AVR..

I am only using 3 channels off my amp now till I get some more IC’s..One step at a time..

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
