Anyone else use the night light option on their computer?

A couple of weeks ago, I started using the computer for the majority of the day and sometimes into the night for work and various reasons. I have tried different lighting, brightness adjustments and other things to prevent me from getting a headache or ocular visions prompted by looking at the screen for the majority of the day.
This mostly occurred at night, so I tried the night light option on the 'puter. I HATED it at first, as it presented an "orange" tint to the screen. Although oit was easier on the eyes and I have not a had a headache ever since, it has been a couple of weeks now since the switch. Whenever I turn the computer back to normal? The screen now has a Blue tint to it that is more annoying than the Orange....
Just can't go back at this point. I even did this on my phone and the blue on normal mode is very annoying. I sometimes wish I never switched to the nightlight but I have found two things out.
My battery lasts longer and I no longer have headaches or ocular visions from looking at the screens so much.
I made the switch after watching Shark Tank (IIRC) and there was a cat on there promoting special glasses to prevent headaches and eye strain. The glasses were expensive and I did not know if they even worked. Plus, even though I wear glasses for driving, I do not like wearing glasses. This was a free option that I did not think would work, but it did. I was pleasantly surprised.
Anyone else out there try it?

Yes, I use it where applicable. There’s an application called F.lux I use for computers and devices that don’t offer this functionality natively. F.lux does offer more control than the built in control in Windows. Different levels of the effect, as well as ability to control the color temperature.I disabled signatures.

Interesting! ... to the point that I just found the option (in Win10) and changed this screen... and mentioned it to Mrs. H.
By "Ocular visions" do you mean so-called optic migraines (or "visual migraines")? Curious because those I get now and again (usually, I think, exacerbated by caffeine and perceived stress).
In any event, a testable hypothesis, as folks in my ol' line of work are wont to say
thanks.

I like the night light on my cell have never used it on the pc

I’ve never experienced headaches from blue light, but I still always use the setting, just because it’s there, and because I do find it more “relaxing” at night. Automatically set from sunset to sunrise, on iPhone, iPad, and Mac...Alea jacta est!

Ahh -- I do remember "talking" about it, but with whom is asking a lot of an old guy like me!
I hate the danged things, because they seem to occur at the least opportune times.

Here is last year's discussion...

We even talked about it back in 2011...

....and back in 2010...

From the last link, @halo71 mentioned this...I think staring at 5 different computer monitors 12 hours a day at work has something to do with it!
I stare at 3. This night light filter definitely helps.

I have set mine to turn on at 9pm, and off at 4am*... we're gonna give it ago.

* Most Tuesdays, you see, we get up at 4:45am... I'll spare you the back story. -
We use it on the desktop and my wife swears by it - says it keeps her from feeling "wired" if she uses the computer a lot before bedtime. I've gotten used to it - but we've got it set so it just comes on in the evening.
