yeah..they will f/u your day...so the dr right away says, 'it's your neck!'..i thought..i've got a healthy neck.whatever...so i do the mri..sure enough! i've got herniated discs, bulging discs and some kinda mis-alignment..they said it looks like you broke your neck recently! i had a car accident 27 years ago..i had whiplash among other things..jeez! now that my brain knows what my neck looks like, the neck muscles have clamped down, trying to protect!
i'll start phys therapy on wed..hopefully, they can 'straighten me out':)

through all of this, my sda's still sound great! pushed too! everything else, every other sound, just makes me think violent thoughts! not my polks;)

sorry for the ventalation

I get them every once in a while. I used to get them all the time. They could not find anything wrong with me.

I think it was stress related. I changed jobs a little while later and they seemed to have all but gone away. I will get one a year or so but I also know that is when I am really busy and don't have time to relax and the stress builds up and I get one.

Doesn't sound like migraines to me, Mike. Migraine headaches are caused by vascular issues, not neuro/musculoskeletal issues. If you were told that, "it's your neck", it is likely a pinched nerve issue secondary to a traumatic jarring of some sort or, dare I say it, secondary to bone/cartilage degeneration because of age - eg. "It's all part of getting older". From the sound of it - your history of a car accident resulting in whiplash 27 years ago - it could very likely be a combination of both the trauma you were subjected to as well as age-related degeneration.

You really should have a neurologist as your primary on this, to follow your progress from PT, but I'd also suggest that a neurosurgeon or an orthopedic surgeon be brought into the loop.

thats good advice...abt 13 yrs ago, when the migraines started, i had an mri on my head..the concluded that i had 'a prominent draining vein in my brain' really..either way, i will consult higher up the food chain

    thanks

Only another migraine sufferer can know what it's like. (Sucks Bigtime !) I am very fortunate to only get them once in a great while nowadays and also that 750mg. of vicodin does the trick for mine.

Invoice will be sent via PM. :D

It might also be a good idea to get some "fresh" input on the migraine issue - if that is actually what you are experiencing. Lots has been changed in the diagnosis/management arenas of migraine headaches in the past 13 years.

    Good luck with it.

Migraines and cervicogenic headaches used to be thought of as discreet entities but are more commonly thought of these days as different points on the same continuum.

The cervical spine, especially in the region of C1-C3, can be causitive for migraines as the spinal nerves from this area intersect with the trigeminal nerve, which influences blood flow to the anterior 2/3 of the brain.

Migraines are classified based on symptoms rather than etiology and sometimes tracking down the causitive factor can be tricky as it can be food related, serotonin deficiency, vascular, musculoskeletal, etc. Good luck!

My sympathies. Imitrex works for me. I found out mine were food related. Can't eat chocolate or anything with caffeine any more. I miss chocolate and coffee but the pain just wasn't worth it. Only have them rarely now. The hard part of figuring it out was that it didn't happen right away. The pain showed up a day later.

750mg of Vicodin/Hydrocodone would kill you, that is if you didnt throw them up first. That would work out to 150 standard 5mg tablets.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Not to mention the 750,000mg of acetaphetamine, liver failure should be instant. I'm sure he meant one and a half 5/500's.

Go see your Doctor/ER and have it checked out. Could be something serious.

I have battled with migraines since I was a kid. As I got older they lessened. Then for years went away almost completely. Maybe 1 or 2 a year. In the last few years I have started getting, ocasionally, what I call ocular migraines. I get the blinking/blurry vision, can't focus, light hurts my eyes symptoms. But with really little to no pain. They last about 20-30 minutes then go away and later my head aches for a few hours.

I have found that visiting a massage therapist once a month helps me tremendously. I think these may be tension headaches perhaps?!? And I tried all the herbal and vitamin recommendations with no help. Stayed away from caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, chocalate, nuts....etc etc. None of that changed things. Been to the eye doctor numerous times. I think staring at 5 different computer monitors 12 hours a day at work has something to do with it! lol

Yeah, no happy endings either! :D

    That is:

    7.5 mg hydrocodone

    &

750 mg acetaminophen (Tylenol) although if memory serves, it's usually 500mg

    voila'! Lortab!

I had a few years where I was getting migraines on a fairly regular basis (1 or 2 per week). They are certainly debilitating. Can't do anything except sit in a dark, quiet room and wait for it to pass. I mean, you can't even focus your eyes and forget about standing.

I never pinpointed a cause, but thankfully they went away because the various medicines they prescribed never really worked to alleviate the migraine symptoms.

Luckily now I can't remember the last time I had a full on attack.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Believe it or not, eating avocado is said to cause migraines as well.
