Popeyes Chicken Sandwich..Anyone??

Options
Sold out nationwide?? Looking further into how the industry blows these birds up to make this all happen is frightning. Anyone here indulge in one and is it all the rave. Chick-fil-A sanwiches tase ok but not crazy about them. Fast food in a whole is something I am weeding out of my life but Olive Oyl called me and said I better eat at least one of her Boo's sandwiches before she sends Wimpy and Brutus over on any given Tuesday to take care of me....(whatever that means)

So anyone had one and how was it??

Apparently someone somewhere is suing Popeye's because they couldn't buy a chicken sandwich. A member on another forum posted about it.

Everyone was shocked when I told them there were no Popeye's locations in Vermont and even though I lived in Florida for over 15 years, I have never visited one. :o

I did visit the new one by our home before the sammich craze and it was nasty to me. Guess some people love the place.

I lived in Sarasota, Florida back in 1983 and a friend told me that Popeye's was nasty. I took his word for it and avoided the place ever since then. :p

Fried chicken and fried food is delicious. Good for you no but delicious.

Popeyes is okay, I like their spicy chicken but I rarely go there. Any chain fried chicken place is always sub par to making it at home.

No judgement here Trey, that means more fried food for us! :)

If you like fried chicken? Find a restaurant that has Broasted chicken. Best fried chicken hands down.

I am suing you for mentioning that you have suffered "emotional damage" from reading this thread because reading that has caused me needless "mental anguish" and "grody feelings".

I demand you settle this matter with 17 regular marbles, 44 aggies, 12 cat's eyes, 23 boulders, and 5 dragon's eyes with at least 50% greenness. Failure to comply will force me to seek litigation.

I like Popeye's. Never had the chicken sandwich, so no therapy or legal action for me. :)

Anything fast food, really, in moderation, is ok for you, IMO. Do I eat Popeye's every day? No.

In fact, whenever we do fast food, it's like a real treat for me cause we don't do it very often.

I like to go out and eat at least once a week. I try and keep it at a nice local restaurant if possible but lately with the wedding in a month, new baby on the way I have been hitting fast food more often.

Still we do have home cooked meals 4 times a week. I usually end up cooking right when I get home. Sometimes the soon to be wife will get something whipped up but being pregnant she can't be standing too long.

The other two days are frozen meals like pizza or lasagna (I can make my own but this is a big decent easy meal that we can just pop in the oven).

Eating at home was a big thing for me growing up, I feel the need to ensure my child(ren) see it the same.

Most of our desserts are homemade though. :)

I get that all North easteners might not like fried greasy food but I grew up loving Soul food and Sonoran Mexican food. That's my comfort food.

Interesting! I always want to know what folks eat that don't eat fried foods, pork, meat, sugar, etc. I'm really curious about veganism, vegetarianism, etc. and what they eat in a typical day.

What do you eat on a typical day?
What if any fast food do you eat?
What do you eat at site down restaurants?
Do you each chicken prepared other ways? Any other meats?

I happen to like fried chicken but I try not to eat it too often. Some of the best was homemade and once I has some from a small town market that was awesome.

As far as fried chicken from fast food places, KFC, Popeyes, Churches, etc. don't really impress me much. IMO, Popeyes spicy is the best out of the bunch. I've eaten Chick-fil-a and found it to be alright. A good non-fried sandwich, nuggets, salads however, IMO their customer service is their specialty.

As far as Popeyes I actually had the sandwich before the craze got even more crazy. There were no long lines or wait when I tried it. I though it was a good tasting fried sandwich. The crust was flaky, the chicken succulent, and the bun and topping were fine. Even so, I don't understand the craze.

Anyway, I like to mix things up and always look for ways to eat better. I do eat fast food but its not what it used to and can be pretty sad source for food sometimes. I know I need to get away from it and find alternatives. I struggle mostly during lunch if I don't prepare a meal. Just interested on the perspective of others.
