    Titusville here...a few miles from the mandatory evacs just ordered...….looks to be the real deal. We have a nice AC room at the Hyatt Orlando airport...place will never lose power with the generator bank they have plus its tied right into the airport..also have a backup room in local Ramada..this storm might need a second backup plan......

    Merritt Island here. Just a few miles north of its projected land fall. Got most of the shutters up today. Generator ready, lots of water and MRE. Brick home with new roof. As of now we plan to stay but have reservations just north of Tampa if needed.

    SW FL here and well wishes to East Coast Floridians. Shutter up, get supplies, fuel, food and water... you might be in for a few tough days... I've been there and you just have to make the best of it. Florida's newer construction is very tough but storm surges are worrisome.

    After Irma it was amazing to see everyone helping each other and bringing cold drinks and food to the work crews restoring the power.

    Prayers and positive thoughts to all...

    We have several transplants from Puerto Rico at our office after Maria raped the Island.

    We were lucky Mathew skirted off the coast. We evacuated for Mathrw and took shelter in a hotel in Tallahassee.

    I really hope we dont have to evacuate for this one. It's so stressful with pets and in laws.

    Looks like it may stay off shore like Matthew did. Seem the projections are steady moving north. Plus from a Cat 4 to Cat 3 and land fall is encouraging.

    I just hope it will pick up some ground speed so it does not sit on top of is too long.

    Were in Panama city beach right now actually. So far they still do not think it will hit here and should stay on the east side. I have friends in Jacksonville and he also isn't too worried. Friends in Miami and west plam on the other hand are debating to come north or not.

    Storms such as this suck, but I do remember the wife and I took a trip to Disneyworld and happened to go between storms. We waited in line for NOTHING at any of the parks. Even the most popular attractions we could go in and get on a ride with no wait whatsoever. The best seats at the restaurants without reservations. It was awesome to be a tourist.

    I remember going to bed at 2am with Rita barreling straight for us when I lived in Galveston...and that was the prediction. Woke up at 7am and the biotch turned north and blasted Beaumont/Lake Charles

    if anyone near me needs water or ice its here for the taking.....started boxing ice 2 days ago and we have at least 1,000 pounds of ice and still producing and 20 cases of water which we give to employees and our sr regulars...we will plan to stay open at lease thru Monday....play it by ear as we also feed a lot of first responders who stage in our parking lot along with FP@L.....the last 2 storms were a rain shower compared to this monster heading towards us....will be boxing and taking the stereo to a secured waterproof place...

    Good luck everyone! And I'm moving to the southeast in about 5 years and have mixed emotions about all of this. All we have to worry about is tornados. My priority is to have a boat for the ocean or live on a lake with a pontoon boat. If I had the $$ I'd love to build a storm proof home like the guy in Mexico Beach. Don't know if anyone remembers that house?!

    Apparently being in the crosshairs of this storm is the best place to be cause Dorian can't shoot straight.

    But perhaps landfall as a cat 2 according to this latest model... Hard to predict and they can't.
