Seems a bit pricey to me.

Over did it last Friday between a few IPAs and Jameson Black Barrel, have yet to "want" anything above 0% :(

Yeah I'm really not surprised. Isn't that against the rules of CL?

Just trying this one for the first time. Very good.

Bourbon, mint, simple syrup, diet 7up. Crushed ice.

I’m no expert and I have always thought that some makers on ice is a perfectly pleasant value. However, after a week in Louisville and spending two evenings with a bartender who helped me navigate the various flavor profiles, I found that for me, the Elijah Craig 18 is worth spending $50 a bottle on as a treat. But very rarely since again, I think makers is just fine for me.

If you can get EC18 for $50 a bottle I’ll give you $150 for 2 of them.

Hmm, time flies. I probably last bought it about 5 years ago and it was an allotment given to binnys in Chicagoland. I guess it’s not been released in awhile and/or is in much shorter supply now. I should have bought a few and stored them.

Yep, last time I had the opportunity to purchase EC 18 they wanted $189. Now, this is a shady liquor store and I passed. I almost wish I would have just bought it.

I just picked up a small bottle of Wild Turkey 101 to see if I like it...and I do :) It has a good mouth feel and a long finish w/o being too "hot".

I just picked this up as well, for $20 I figured if nothing else I'll make cocktails with it. Its really pretty solid on the rocks. Nice easy weeknight drink...

I picked up another Angels Envy the other day. It sat next to their rye release which I really wanted to buy but a bit too much $$ for my wallet.

I have tried the Basil Hayden's and really did not care for any of them. I have one of the Dark Rye's in the cabinet that only has one drink out of it. I'll give it another try later today and see if I still think the same. Sometimes when I revisit a bottle I think to myself "what was I thinking last time".

I liked the Basil in summertime. It had a much lighter profile. Occasionally put a lemon or orange peel in the glass.

I tried the dark rye again this afternoon. It was my first drink of the day. Was better than I remember but still not very high up in the cabinet. It will stay on the bottom shelf.

Has anybody tried Balcones Single Malt Rum Finish? Not a bourbon but I've heard a dang good whisky.

I'm primarily a Scotch drinker.......but have been known to take a tug off a handle now and then. I'm pretty fond of Blanton's and, failing that, Jefferson Reserve. We killed a couple of bottles of Blanton's in Stu's backyard a few years back, if memory serves....

Yes! I was at the release party (balcones tasting room is one of the cooler places to grab a drink in Waco). Anything made by balcones is damn good, and that was no exception. I really like their rye which is the most affordable, and their standard single malt is excellent.

I don't run across it often but when I do I buy it up. I have one about 3/4 full now.

Yeah, $80 for bookers is just nonsense.

Cut the price in half and I would find it acceptable.
