My brother bought some huge CV! speakers back in the '90's when Highland Electronics was going out of business.

Eventually, many years later, he asked @SCompRacer to sell them for him. The next speakers he purchased were the Von Schweikert VR2's that I sold to him.

I remember that! Sold them on ebay, local pickup only with demo.

It was the first time I ever heard CV's connected to some decent gear and they didn't sound that awful bad.

Sold the big Vegas. People seem to be paying stupid money for them these days, so who am I to argue?

The Minimus 7's are my "test" speakers. Paired with the SVS and kept to a reasonable volume, that combo sounds better than the CV's ever did.

We have a pair of the big Peavey P.A. speakers with the 15" woofers.....then can literally be heard blocks away when cranked with a hundred watt amp.

And they sound clean and not fatiguing at all. I've spent hundreds of hours mixing records on Peavey speakers like yours.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the bass from the 15" woofers is fantastic. No real need for a subwoofer unless you have a huge space.

Vega's were my first speaker back in the 70's. 12" 3 way towers in a 12X14 bedroom was a lot of fun. A few year's later I got some Polk bookshelf speakers for when I wanted to listen and not just blast.

I'v looked for a set of Vega's recently for my warehouse. Prices are way too high on the used market
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
