I think you will be very happy with that purchase.

I chased equipment for years and have slowed down after gettin the McIntosh amp/pre.

I know you have a great preamp but give McIntosh a try. The pairing of the two together works like PB&J.

Congrats to you on the new amp and it does look like a beauty. Be careful you don't catch the blue meter fever which is tough to avoid once the first Mac piece comes home with you.

One of life's memorable moments for sure. What to do...

If you're enjoying it and like it's sound very much, I say keep it. Tell the guy he'll be first in line when and if you decide to get another amp. He'll understand.

If you're not hearing a great sound from it, return it and take the 200.

Then go out to eat with the wife.

BNIB and the guy has seller's remorse? I would only let him by it back if I was unimpressed or if I could find an almost equally clean unit for less.
If he said he had seller's remorse and this was driving his main system - well then I'd feel a little worse about it. But it sounds like that wasn't the case. I'd probably keep it.

But then again, getting paid $200 to basically do an in home demo, well that's a great deal on it's own!
