    You can't win with these people. If you replace plastic straws with paper ones, the tree huggers will complain. Unless there is an obvious problem that we can control, best to ignore the knuckleheads.

    Just to get this to audio for a minute -- :) there's a time honored trick used to tune bass reflex ports using bunches of -- you guessed it -- straws. A fistful of straws, cut to (various) lengths can be used as a quick and dirty way to test alternative tunings
    for a Helmholz resonator (ahem, bass reflex cabinet) :)
