The local junk shop --

has a pair of Altec Magnficents on the floor.
Imagine my surprise.

They may or may not be for sale; I did get their owner's contact info.
Now I have to decide if I want to call the guy.

Freaking.
Altec.
Magnificents.

In.
Freaking.

Borrowed image -- the Magnificent is a (barely) housebroken morph of an Altec Voice of the Theater. More or less an A7 in a walnut box.

I likes me some Altec sound.
    Y'all knew that.
It would be cool to have Magnificents.
I think they're a little smaller (shorter) than my Duplex cabinets.

The speakers you looked at today may be the speakers someone looked at yesterday and are coming back to buy today. If you hesitate, they will be someone else's prize.
