When men were men and toys were dangerous! -
Hear hear! Supposed to be a tether car, goes round and round, boring after a while, so we run it and set up to launch on ramps, etc. Had to get it off the neighbors roof once!Basement: Polk SDA SRS 1.2tl's, Cary SLP-05 Pre with ultimate upgrade,McIntosh MCD301 CD/SACD player, Northstar Designs Excelsio DAC, Cambridge 851N streamer, McIntosh MC300 Amp, Silnote Morpheus Ref2, Series2 Digital Cables, Silnote Morpheus Ref2 Series2 XLR's, Furman 15PFi Power Conditioner, Pangea Power Cables, MIT Shotgun S3 IC's, MIT Shotgun S1 Bi-Wire speaker cables

Just a few I built growing up.
I built a few of the classic Monster models too. Those were really fun. What happened to them only MOM knows.

These were the toys of Jesse's youth.
Beat me to my early toy collection. Almost lost an eye... -

Model cars were my thing. I’d collect parts and pieces from other sets and build my own. Put a blower from a drag rail on a 57 Chevy, cut a hole in the hood with a pocket knife so it could stick through, used sewing thread to make spark plug wires. All while listening to Kiss, Boston, BTO albums on my JCPenney stereo. Good times!Integrated Amp: Marantz PM-10
Speakers: Usher MD2
Subwoofer: Rythmik F15HP
DAC: North Star Design Supremo
Streaming Source: AURALiC Aries Mini
SACD Player: Marantz SA8004

I think it had a 4' wingspan and I still faintly can remember that sound it made almost 50 years later. My Dad and I were so glad I put it together so well. It hung up in the air in my bedroom for a couple of years.
That Hughie Chopper made a great sound too. Plus the blades turned I think. That was another successful build. Imagine if a model had spinning blades now. It wouldn't be allowed on the shelves.
I just remembered I built a Jaguar XKE that has sounds, a working stearing system and headlights that you could turn on and off from the dash I think it was. Now that was a HARD one for me. It was an awesome kit with GREAT directions. It was BIG like in this picture but it was molded in CLASSIC RED. This picture looks like it has lightbulbs where the headlights are too.

Ha, I had that one in my collection.
Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."
President of Club Polk -
Yea I remember when they came out and then in a week they were pulled from the shelves because of what that picture shows happened when a punk brother wants to scare you. I was about his age above if I remember right. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I never finish my models, glue ya know.

Those brought back memories of these clackers who had a little longer shelf life before they were pulled too because of eye injuries from the glass breaking. Who thought these glass balls wouln't break at some point.
I even got good at clacking them too. But I didn't have my own pair so I didn't do it much.
I guess these were the safe version but I don't know..

@Tony M hmmm, always heard about it but never once saw them shatter. They were a fine weapon for accidental stealth attacks on classmates that you didn't care for.

Somebody saw the glass grapes for table decorating back then and thought.....
