If i make an extended aluminum spud from new alloy input plate to wrap the factory inductor around, will this change it's inductance?

They'll be mounted inside at back and top. I want the Large Inductor removable seperately in case I want to try your laminated steel inductor.

The spud would be the same dia. as factory plastic housing. I wasn't sure if the aluminum made a difference. i know that ferrous metals do.
Maybe I should have asked in the Rhetorical Question Section lol.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

I like spuds, baked with butter, sour cream. Fries are good too.

First: I'd like to apologize as I only saw spud, and thought you were joking.
Second: I'm trying to catch a drift here so I googled "extended aluminum spud"...this is what I got...mostly refers to tater canon's, which I've had some fun with those, but have a feeling that's not what you're asking about.

In machining terms a spud is a protrusion. I want to make a new mount for the CRS sub-drive coil and relocate it.
Very cool potato gun. Be careful you could loose an eye...or ear.... or entire cranial structure hehe.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
How do purpose to transfer the inductor from the plastic mount to the aluminum one?Political Correctness'.........defined

Inquiring minds want to know heh?
What's the threaded bolt size that mounts this thing as I dont have one atm?Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
I've searched here and Goog'd to no avail on that bolt size. Upon closer inspection, since its a plastic sandwhich design, I don't want to cut it out on the lathe, instead mount it on a single plate with the circuit board with a tapped locating spud attached to it...
Ill look at that Inductor chart again and see whats best location....

Thanks WMG. Should I position inductor like first pic or 2nd...or further away?
Also is there heat issue from circuit board if placed flat on some high density foam that will attach to lower plate?Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

What's wrong with the way it's set up now? I make a new mount when the sub bass/spool inductors are replaced, otherwise I leave it alone.Home Theater/2 Channel:

I don't think I'll post any more questions. This forum discombobulates the threads where a search function in the future would render the user with acute psychosis.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

A good way to search the forum is to enter "site:forum.polkaudio.com" in the Google search bar and any terms you want to search after that.

Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, whatever. It's a mix of Neapolitan confusion.
I've been looking for a thread I read a few weeks back where F1 quoted the CRS soundstage being too wide.
