That is how they erect covered bridges south* of the Mason-Dixon line, isn't it?

More New England snobbery. Next you'll criticize Southerners for finding innovative ways to reuse corn cobs. You call it gross, they call it recycling.

I know what some folks do with corn cobs -- especially nowadays, given that Sears no longer publishes a catalog :)

There are foolish people everywhere. North, south, east, west, doesn't matter. I have spent some time in the south (bro lives outside Atlanta) and New England (Army). Outside the city areas I did see a lot of creative work around's. Some are great ideas and some not so great. Most of it is based on money. When people don't have the proper means to afford something they will try to make what they want or need.

Now using a tower speaker like that gave me nightmares last night. It is no way based on money, it is just plain foolishness. If the OP can afford the tower he could have went an got some concrete blocks and 2x10 and made a TV stand that would have room for a center.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

No fun without the participation of the OP.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

meh, I dunno, the presence or absence of the OP seems nearly moot.
We're pretty much in the state of damped harmonic oscillation now -- it'll fade out in a few pages, slow but sure.

I'm reminded of a Chinese proverb too. "Man who stand on toilet, high on pot. Then he uses a regular tower speaker on its side as a center"

The above Craig's List/ Klipsch front speaker array is actually somewhat inspiring. It shows how creative placement can put the most sound into small spaces.
    :)

I'm trying to get in touch with these audio engineers. They seemed to have the right method for getting the most sound of a small space.
