I'm +1 on the Joule Electra. Was blown away by the height, depth and warmth it added.

    Congrats on the "new" amp!

Ya, it's the journey that counts. lol. I enjoyed the Jolida Fusion preamp I had here and it is well within your budget (pre-owned). You can probably pick up a separate phono pre and some nice NOS tubes up to your budget.

I had a pre-owned VTL 2.5 as well and it was a fabulous piece of equipment but it's a bit out of your stated budget.

    Good luck with the search!

Nope. That 2.5 went to a fellow Polkie in '08 or '09 but I agree, it was a nice pre!

I had my Krell KAV-2250 paired up with a Dared MC-7P, results were super. Definitely warmed things up a lot.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Do you still have the Dared 2000?

Yes, that is what I'm using now. I've switched my signature below so you can see what I'm currently running. I may end up keeping the Dared in the system for awhile, until I find a nice deal on a nicer tubed pre. Getting some really good TFK 5965's to put in it. The Psvane's in there now actually sound really good also.

Its a good unit. I think it should mate well with the Amp.
