PSW505 crackling, low static sound "CS was great!"

Well,
Powered on the home theater system this morning to watch a movie and was surprised I started getting this static, crackling sound out of my PSW505 sub woofer which I had for 2 years. When I turned it off to check connections and such it made this loud squeal when turning off wow woke me up. So I disconnected, reconnect it and was getting low level crackling with the bass which was almost none existent. Watching the power light on back every time it played bass the light turned red then back to green. Unplugged again now nothing red light only.

Called Polk CS and talked to Ken, told him what happened took my information and now sending me new amp =) All I can say is wow factor on the CS. Will update when new amp is here.

    Did you have to send your old amp to them? I am having the same issue, but was told I needed to remove the faulty amp and send it to California. Which I haven't had the time to do as of yet.

    They didn't asked for it back, but if they send a return post with the new one. No problem. I was only on the phone for 5 minutes or less

    When sending out an amp for replacement, do they email you a tracking number?
