I found a pair local for $125. They look like they are in pretty good shape and the hats are there. Only thing is they state 1 tweeter is not working.
Should I scoop these up asap?
Thanks

On my way now and I get a text that the second tweeter is not working. I'm still going to get them either way. As long as they don't smell like cat piss!!!!

The KEFs actually blew me away with thier small size and big sound. When I get them home I will test the tweeters on the polks. Neither is working. All the caps look ok so I wonder if they are going to test "open".

Nice! Glad you stayed persistent. I did the same when I got my SDA 2bs for $100. Best audio purchased I have made. I saw a pair of the RTA 12s for $150 in my area but I was low on cash or else I would have purchased them. I LOVE the open tweets.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Are you talking about the hats? -
Until I get the tweeters working I'm not even going to hook the polks up.
In the mean time I unbridged my NAD 906 now 30 watts per channel and hooked up the KEFS. I'm am totally loving thier sound.
Because of the ringing in my ears from my time in rotary wing aircraft in the Marines, I tend to favor hard dome metal tweeters. I never did care to much for the RT55 or the RM7500 polks I've had. But these KEFs soft dome have me hooked.
Spent $140 for all 4 speakers. I'm happy.
Thanks for the advice on being persistent. It paid off!

Look at the bottom of yours, look at the bottom of these.

I guess your right. I'm not very familiar "YET" with vintage Polks. I would have never known the risers were gone. I will put them on some short stands anyways.
What tweeters should I use for replacements? I'm about to put a small signal on them to see if the scwack or not. These are soldered leads and I don't have time today to desolder them to properly test them.
