2.3 TL high static/white noise from top tweet and some from tweet below

I really have no idea where to start. It's the right speaker only. Xovers were done by previous owner. I've never open these puppies up, but I guess I'm about to.
But not tonight, maybe in the next day or so after I get some feedback . . . For tonight I'll have to roll my Salks in
Don't get me wrong, I like rolling equipment. I just don't want to be forced to do it

Other than a loose connection, what are my first 2-3 things to look for?

    Try a different pair of speakers to make sure it's the 2.3TL and not anything earlier in the chain?

    Bad music. Maybe boy bands. A good set of speakers have been known to commit hara-kiri when exposed to it.

    The Salks are in and static is coming from the right ribbon!

    I checked the bias in both mono blocks and they're where they should be

    I guess I'll switch out the tubes in the preamp

    Flip each L/R source RCA and or preamp/amp till you narrow which piece of gear it follows...don't forget to power down each time

    You might start switching speaker cables left-to-right, then interconnects as well, to see if one of them is the guilty party.

    Thanks for all your help guys, but it turns out to be minor surgery

    Apparently, the tubes I recently acquired from the "RealGreatGreatSeller" from the Great White North are faulty
    I'll have to send back and get a refund. I hope he's cooperative

    On the upside, I'm really glad that the Polks don't require disassembly and the Salks sound fine

    Yes, sir! It's a tube issue for sure . . . 12ax7 input tube in right side mono block
    (Too many changes in a short time, .... I owe GreatGreatSeller an apology)

    Not sure if it's defective or dirty pins, it was just delivered in the last week or so and pins were supposed to have been cleaned . . . . I'll be purchasing some de-oxit STAT
