I find with the grills on I can't see the drivers on my 705s... so I don't think the oval vs. round bothers me that much. But that's my preference.

Problem is the 705's sound better with grills off. I have never been a fan of oval drivers, but the 705 is a very nice looking speaker, Even with grills off.

Perhaps then I should take the grills off and see it makes a difference. Pretty pleased with the sound already, but from what I moved up from.. any number of lessor choices would have been an improvement.

I think that is a fair question. They will be less than that but our sonic target was to be better than product from competitors and ourselves at that price and a bit above.

Thank you for the information, Michael.

Just a month or so to go. Sounds like these might be in competition with the Elac type stuff. "Affordable Giant Killers" category.

So far I like the look of everything I've seen from the sneak peeks. Other than the finish. But I understand the finish goes with the price point and I'm sure/hopeful every dollar was spent on sonics.

I'm waiting to see Polk not be scared to make a wider speaker to accommodate some SDA action. Wife approval factor be damned, it's all about that huge soundstage!

    Interesting stuff guys... yah...

Anyway, thought you might like to see some of the different driver sizes coming off the line.

    ss5ow16964hb.jpg

I will say that this line will not be replacing LSiM, but that might be a project under discussion for a future date... It will also not be a T series level line, as we just released that last year.

The drivers in the fist shot can be seen here intermixed with some of the larger drivers...

I am thinking the drivers look very similar to the old MW65xx series that we all love but with different cones.

Might we expect to see passive radiators in the design?
