Sure here is a quick pic. All the print on this one is gone but it has a Δ7E code on it with 4 seams on top so I assume it is a 1957 Heerlen made tube.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    I'll take it. You're sure it;s a 12AX7? I only ask because I already have 6 - 12AU7 long plates made in Holland, so I really don't need anymore :)

Also I'm looking for a single 1952/53 GE (Ken Rad) 5814. Black ladder plate, bent post square getter and metal clips on the plate tabs.

    Thanks

Hi Brock I am 99.9 % sure it is indeed a 12AX7 I tested it as both a 12AU7 and a 12AX7 and it is either a very weak 12AU7 or a strong 12AX7 most of the time if you test a 12AU7 as a 12AX7 it will test far higher then it should which tells you it it is not a 12AX7. On my tester a good 12AX7 will test anywhere from 1200 to 3000 at 1.0 bias volts a good 12AU7 will test anywhere from 4000 to 7000 if tested as a 12AX7 and if tested as a 12AU7 at 4.0 bias volts will test from 2500 to 4000 on average.

You can always return this tube if you feel it is not a 12AX7 or if your just don't like it no questions asked I like happy customers :)

So the only code is the delta 7E. No top line code? mCx = 12AX7/Ecc83; k6x =12AU7/Ecc82.

What you say makes sense with the testing. I'll take it, no problem.
