I saw a bald eagle this morning sitting on the corner of the street.

I kayak the Connecticut River quite a bit in the summer and if you take a right after Bondi's Island and head up the mouth of the Westfield River, you'll see a few eagles perched on the high tension wires.
Here's an eagle shot that I took while kayaking up in the White Mountains of NH.
I thought it was resting on a rock, but it was actually eating a dead moose !

They are awfully temping to shoot when duck hunting. When you have been shooting at speedy ducks all day, then a gianantic Heron comes in flying like a hot air balloon, it takes a strong will (& a huge fine) not to drop them.

LOL....Around here they are more finicky. Must have been babied growing up. Big rocks not small pebble sized rocks. Some also use fishing line over a pond in a criss cross pattern.

They also make automatic sprinklers so when that big blue bird walks up to your pond he gets squirted. Being me....and I don't have to explain that do I ?....it didn't work out so well for me. Kept squirting myself every time I went to feed the fish or just do some maintenance.

Because, if you put in at the boat ramp at Bondi's, (off of route 5) you can reach the mouth of the Westfield river and paddle all the way up to The Big E.
It's a very nice 3 hour venture up and back.
If you keep going south, past the Westfield River, one can paddle all the way down to CT.
There's one point where you can park your Kayak right under the first major drop of the 6 Flags Roller coaster and wave to the pretty girls as they come screaming towards you.
Paddling north of Bondi's takes you up to the Chicopee River.

    @tonyb,

When I do something stupid (which is often enough), I never think about stabbing myself in the heart with a pencil.

I always think, "Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to do something even more stupid!"

    I'm an incorrigible optimist! :)

Your deserving of a rap song Russ, like a Run dmc rap.

I went to Outback to meet up with Russ....
We sat down for an hour before we started to cuss...

He walked in with a little...side to side....
Then asked the waitress if this was Kentucky fried....

    He's weird.....dodododo-do
    He's weird.....dodododo-do

Sat down and started to eat....
when he took off his shoes to show us his feet...

My wife just screamed with a big "Oh sh&t".....
while the waitress just yelled and threw up a fit....

    He's weird...dodododo-do
    He's weird....dodododo-do

He smoked like a chimney....drank like a fish..
kept grabbing his crotch, said he had an itch...

The place emptied out, no one around...
When I said to my wife..."I warned you...Russ is in town."

    He's weird...dodododo-d0
    He's weird...dodododo-do.
