I have a cone with a good surround out of a MW6500 that I could mail you - the voice coil is bad (I broke it trying to re-center magent! D'oh!) but the cone & surround are both still in good shape. I'm not sure if you wanted to try to re-surround yours but this is yours if you want it!my 3.1TLs
I will fix your shifted magnets for free. -

RTV silicone has no business near your speakers....just nasty stuff.

It is supposed to be "cold vulcanizing fluid"- I think. Not a chemical engineer here, but it has held up for over a year so far.Speakers: Polk SDA-SRS xovers rebuilt by David, RDO194's, Dynamat, BH5, glued magnets, new cloth, custom aluminum terminal plates with Cardas posts and Speakon interconnect

You just need to use enough to stick the torn edges together and seal. Avoid globs that would otherwise mess with the compliance.Stan

I have a Carver M-500(t) MKII modded that I cant seem to let go but I love my SDA speakers.
Trying to fight with ego to sell it and get an Adcom 555III am now COMMON-GROUND -
I see, I assume it's not common ground? Definitely sell that thing and move on, IMO. No brainer. I'm sure there is something in the Carver family that is common ground if that brand is your thing.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.
