I had been looking at it for powering the ELAC B6 I got recently.
What are you using to drive them right now?

I've been using my headphone amp, it puts out 100wpc into 4 ohms.

I don't think you can call it a headphones amp LOL. I think its a Intergrated amplifier with a nice balanced headphone jack :p

I got an update from ELAC in regards to my preorder:

"Your pre-order release date has been changed. The new release date is April 30, 2016. Your order details are shown below for your reference.

Hi Everyone, I have an update on the availability of the Uni-Fi series of speakers. Unfortunately, there is a delay in receiving our first shipment of products. Our new expected delivery date is the very end of April.

    We apologize for the delay.

I pre-ordered mine last week on Amazon and they gave the April 30 date. With the B6 they had a problem through customs on the first shipment, so I've read. With all the crap a company has to do to ship stuff these days its no wonder...

    UB5, tired of towers.

Amazon had a good deal, apply for the Amazon credit card and get $80 off. They will never make a dime off of me on interest charges so what do I care.

So you are going with the towers?

I'm also in an apartment. It's a pretty big living room that opens to a kitchenette and the hallway on the other side.

Initially, I thought that the RC70 speakers were too "big" for the space. However, after getting things dialed in, they are sounding really impressive now.

The critics say that the UniFi bookies hit like a tower and the UniFi tower specs aren't that different than the bookies.

I guess we'll see what happens when they get here :)

I have a couple to try, whichever sounds the best. A pair of Musical Fidelity class D bridged M1PWR at about 150wpc, a pair of Manley Mahi Mahi EL84 amps, an Acurus 3X250A 250wpc and I think I still have a Jolida EL34 60wpc laying around somewhere although I couldn't find it last time I looked (since I moved). I'd really like to try an Odyssey but don't see buying another amp. If anything I need to thin the herd a bit. My initial guess is the M1PWR might sound best.

I would think so as well since solid state can drive less efficient speakers whereas tube amps may struggle. I guess it depends on what you want, db or musicality/warmth? That was my experience with sand amps vs tube amps. YMMV

There is always a bigger tube amp out there!
The M1PWR just has a great overall presentation, liked them a lot with the little KEFs. Not sure about the Spark, its 20wpc is pretty low power for an 85db speaker. That may only be about 98db output sitting a few feet away. What are you trying them with now?

@Dskip, just FYI - the link you posted to Spark has two "http"s in it, and does not work.

Since you can't edit that post, the link is here>

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Looks like a T-amp with a toroid in it that adds a little to the weight? Am I wrong?

    Bad news:

"Your pre-order release date has been changed. The new release date is May 17, 2016. Your order details are shown below for your reference.

Hi Everyone, we wanted to send a quick update regarding the availability of the Uni-Fi series. Due to a logistical situation the product will not be available until May 17th.

    Sorry for the convenience,

BAH!!! This is terrible news. What a bummer.
At least you didn't unleash this on a Sunday night or Monday morning.
