I call dibs on the Classe! I thought with the new B&W line it would have been for sure a pair of those.

And the classe aint leaving anytime soon... it's too good.

    Here it is:

    Boulder 2060 stereo amplifier.

Soon to grace my room and destroy the subfloor and floor supports.

Not really sure where to put it either.

I just looked up the specs on that amp and OMG!!!! Congrats to you on acquiring the biggest and baddest amp that I've ever seen.

So what were the earlier pictures? Do you have to assemble those amps? Do they come in "pieces"? Because the first photo above just looks like front/back plates by themselves with no amp.

I think it tips the scale at 260+ lbs.

The Boulder amps go like this:

800 series then 1000 series then 2000 series and then finally 3000 series.

The 3060 is the top of the line stereo amp. It weighs 440 lbs.

The 1060 is the most popular stereo amp, weight 160 lbs.

The 860 is the entry level stereo amp.

The breakdown, from my understanding is that as you move up, it gets better because the Class A bias is more and the parts are even better.

    860 - class a/b
    1060 - some A, mostly a/b
    2060/2160 - mostly A
    3060 - all A

    NICE!

Floor joist should be able to handle it all day long.

My undersized 2x8 joist held up my 400 pound pool table for years...

You're no doubt sitting on 2x10's. If you really want to test, before you move the boulder in sit down and have someone (like skip) bounce up and down on the floor. You should hardly feel it.

Move in the Boulder and repeat. If you notice A LOT more bounce, that's not a good thing.

    Whats under the listening room?

Nothing, I think it's the pantry and the garage.

I swear, next house, I'm not having a 2nd floor stereo room.

In all honesty, your floor can handle a couple of those amps.

But if you want to really go nuts. Can someone get access to the floor joist easily enough?

If they can, it would be easy to double on some of the joist crating a laminate joist. That crap would be going nowhere...

Nah, I don't want to renovate at this time.... the thought of someone ripping apart the first floor will make my wife want to literally kill me.

I'm sure it will be ok... I need to figure out first:

    1. If I like the Boulder 2060.
    2. Then if I do, I will have some amp stands built. It's going to have to be custom because of the dimensions.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. Has me curious too...

But if the 3060 is a stereo amp at 440.

Then the 3050 are monoblocks and are 440 lbs each. So both equal 880?

    Crap that's a lot
