Looks great Steve. Merry Christmas.
-
Excellent. Happy Holidays!

That tree doesn't grow naturally in the wild!!!!
I kill 1 pine tree a year and then heave it into the mulch pile the day after christmas. "Murrica! Speaking of that, the tree goes up in a couple days!
Looks good. My wife gets at me every year about not decorating the outside of the house with lights. "One day...........for the kids" is what i tell her.

Beautiful place Steve!

Nice Steve, except that flat roof is a perfect landing spot for Santa and some Reindeer. You also need a few Lizards with Santa hats roaming around. Work on that next year.HT SYSTEM-

lovely lovely lovely, merry Christmas everybody.
Please do show us your place decorated, and anyone who feels comfortable, if you have little ones, include their little faces at this wonderful time of year.humpty dumpty was pushed -

Looks great! The only thing you're missing is the "snow"! It's Arizona, after all. I'm no fan of the winter white, but a white X-mas is not a bad thing and we usually have one up here!
Merry Christmas!Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

We had thick white hoarfrost this morning -- it looked like snow in places.
Our tree is fresh cut (by me, a week ago) and lighted/ensconced in the LR but not otherwise decorated yet.
-
We usually do get 1 or 2 snowfalls per winter--not much, maybe 2" accum. We have had a rare 8-10" snow fall back the late 80's. We are "suppose" to see some snow this year...we'll see....
The winter is strange here. It can be 20 degrees when you wake up, and be 65-70 degrees on your way home from work; once that sun sets, it gets cold fast.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
I was thinking about getting a Charlie Brown Christmas tree this year. There's no room in my apartment for an entire friggin' tree. My Polks and Salamander stand have seniority on that space.

Do it, do it, do it!
(no peer pressure or nothin')
... otherwise, a nice aluminum tree. That's the ticket.

The first year we were at this house, we had just moved in before Christmas so didn't do lights outside. The second year, I got a light-up wreath for above the garage door, but that's it.
This is our third year, and I finally got some lights out there! Feels nice.

I'll post pics soon. It's at our new house with over 360 lights. I'll do more next year.
The two blue spruce trees to the right have lights and all the gutters have them as does those whole side of the house as does the whole front porch.Post edited by Willow on -
^^^ I quite like the exterior. Not that there's anything wrong with the tree ;-) -- I just wanted to call out the outside lights; they're elegant and not overdone (relative to my taste, what little I manifest).
We are very dull in the dull Yankee tradition; white (clear) bulbs in single "candles" in all the front and side windows.
I haven't photographed it this year; it looks the same every year, though (and pretty much the same as the old house in MA looked for 22-ish Christmases). This year, we do have fresh-cut greens on the doors from our daughter & son-in-law's heavily wooded new property.
The tree is -- ahem -- still a work in progress even as I type this. Mrs H and I are ridiculously busy for two nominally (ostensibly) retired people.
EDIT: Last year's version -- not a great photo, even reduced to b&w, though.

This is all I got. What bachelor does more? I'll possibly add the Charlie Brown tree.

Really nice tree and love the old school multi color lights.
looks like you have 2 fans already, bet they can stare at that all night.

Yes, all 3 kids have been memorized all night.
Wife likes the 'classy' white lights out front of the house, but I have free reign inside. I grew up with the big old colored lights, so that's what I prefer!2 ChannelTurntable - VPI Classic 2/Ortofon 2M BlueAmplification - Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II, Parks Audio Budgie PhonoSpeakers - GoldenEar Triton 17.2 Home TheaterDenon AVR-X3300W; Rotel RMB-1066; Klipsch RP-280F's, Klipsch RP-450C, Polk FXi3's, Polk RC60i; Dual SVS PB 2000's; BenQ HT2050; Elite Screens 120"Man CaveTurntable - Pro-Ject 2.9 Wood/Grado GoldAmplification - Dared SL2000a, McCormack DNA 0.5 DeluxeCD: Cambridge AudioSpeakers - Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary; LSiM 703; SDA 2A -

Thank you. So that's 360 lights outside and who knows how many on the tree. I do want to do our little peak above the porch but have yet figured out a way to do it as all the lights on the eaves are connected. I'd have to figure out a way to split it.
I'll have to look into you're white bulbe candle tradition. It is hard to see from that picture. -

Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed at your house?! Loosely based on something you haven't told us yet?......... Leatherface?
The B&W makes it extra erie...

Note to myself, take new holiday lights photo :-P
Heck, my chainsaw is out on loan to my son-in-law, too...
well, I do have an old Sears electric chainsaw downstairs, but I think that Consumer Reports rated those "unacceptable" for massacring.
-
Not so much as unacceptable but really unpractical.
This reminds me of a campy horror movie..."The Jackhammer Massacre" where the antagonist runs around with a CORDED jackhammer and yes, you guessed it, has it come unplugged during his escapades.

in a related note, my daughter & son-in-law blithely strode into the woods on their (recently acquired) property and... and... I can barely bring myself to say this... murdered an innocent little evergreen. Killed 'im in cold sap. Brutal. I believe there was a hatchet involved. No cord.
Kids these days.
