I'm sure that there have been...

but, I've gotta say, that is as funny as schnizzle, that is.
I lol'd when I saw the top photo; had to explain to Mrs. H why I was chortling.

EDIT:

Once, many years ago, our pastor gave an Advent sermon about John the Baptist. He said we should celebrate John the Baptist at Christmastime; "You brood of vipers." (Luke 3:7)

ol' JtB had a way with words.

The next Advent, one of the waggish parishioners sent him a Christmas card: "Merry Christmas, you brood of vipers! Love, John". We made John the Baptist Christmas cookies for him -- gingerbread men with their heads on little aluminum foil trays.

It's OK to have a sense of humor, even in the context of religion.

... although I feel that I am probably right on the edge of forum-appropriate with this commentary.
