FXi3 for surrounds and RTi4 for backs.
-
I will look into those. I can't find any FXi3 for sale anywhere. Polk doesn't have any of those on their website. Only RTiA1 and RTiA3.Pioneer sc-07

There is a difference between the RTiA series and the RTi series gentlemen. The RTi series were replaced by the RTiA series.

Will I hear any difference between the rti4 or rti6?Pioneer sc-07

The first link is to the vintage speakers site for your models. The second link is to the model which replaced yours. The third and fourth links are to the models I said would be a perfect match for surrounds.
Also vintage

The fours have a 5 1/4" woofer and the sixes have a 6 1/2" woofer.

I found 1 pair of rti6 at a pawn shop in Nebraska. $99 after shipping. I can't find anymore unless they are $300+. I might order those and hope I find another pair.
I took my receiver to the repair shop today. Turned my tv on with the internal speakers. Been along time since I had to do that. My wife said she finally appreciates my HT speakers. Maybe now she won't mind me spending more money on it. LOLPioneer sc-07

Are the F/XiA4 worth their price tag? I don't know which direction to go. I want to make sure I'm going in the right direction for upgrading.Pioneer sc-07

YOU MEN
You menare ALL ALIKE!

I have been doing a lot of reading and my room setup is not ideal for 7.1. My couch is against the back wall. So I will just do 5.1 and bi-amp my fronts. Since I'm going 5.1 now does it make more sense to go with the fxi/a series? Buying only one set of surrounds will leave me more money for a better sub.Pioneer sc-07

I'm in the same situation (couch against the back wall) and someone said the FxiA4 or 6 won't be practical to install, since they need room behind them.....!RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E
Yamaha TSR-700 (equivalent to RX V6A)
No surround...yet -
Any more thoughts on this? I can place them on either side of the couch on the back wall or mount them on side walls. I'm leaning toward side walls using the fxia4 but if the rti4/6 will sound just as good I'll get those since they are cheaper.
Now the sub. Should I pull the plug on a SVS PB2000 and sell the paradigm?Pioneer sc-07

Every system and evryone's needs and wants are different of course
Those are monitor 5jr's left and right surrounds and an RT-35i back surround. As you cann it's above the couch on the back wall above the window. -
Here is a pic of my FXi 3's. As you can see, my couch is right below them, but they sound great. Also see the rest of the system.

Nice system
Can I respectfully suggest raising your surrounds up another foot?
BIG effect on your surround soundfield I promise. -
I used to have an Onkyo Integra TA-2800 cassette deck
Loved it and miss it -
I guess I'll have to order the fxia4 and play around with placement.Pioneer sc-07

Thanks HA.
They are at 6ft high & 6ft apart well secured into the studs in the wall for safety which is what is recommended. I had a friend who had the tools help me with it.
It sounds just fine to me, and more importantly, when I had a friend over to watch a movie at one point she asked me if it was raining, I just grinned and pointed to my back speakers!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
