When you say, "SR Tough" what are you referring to? Do you mean the wood material the cabinet is made from?

    Hi Gatemplin,
Thank-you for the advice. What exactly do you mean by 'bondo', is it possible to be more exact. I was just planning on getting a replacement top part of the SR TOUGH finish, using a heat gun to take it off and reaplce it with a new top piece.

So you think judging by the shabby picture at http://pictures.baldacchino.net/audio/P1010019 it is possible to repair this?

    Thanks

If you can get an exact replacement piece from SRtough and just glue it on, then do that.

Bondo is an auto-body filler. It dries very hard and smooth when sanded down. It is cheap too. I would pull off that piece with a heat gun. Prep the area with tape and carefully remove the broken MDF if there is any, and use Bondo to make a flush mating surface for the new laminate. This may not be necessary but I cant tell from the picture.

    Bogo,

Mate, just buy the replacement cabinet and be done with it.

For the price of a new cabinent I would prefer to buy two new speakers. The cost of a cabinet is $680 AUD. I paid 650 USD a pair. I am convicned I can fix this.
