Ok first let me apologize if I misread what was posted, it just seemed odd to me with you having a new baby, and it sounded like money is tight..

Now, I own the RTiA9 line-up, and I also own an Emotiva amp that powers the front three channels, it's ok for music, and if you have never really owned an amp to power a set of speakers you will probably shoot a wad in your pants..

If it's for movies you would be set, I use my HT system for movies only unless I have a project in the basement..

Emotiva, and the RTiA line works well for movies, and the price of the amp works well and you get a warranty, I have owned this amp since 2009 and have had no issues..

If you want good music as well look at a used parasound or even a used Adcom would be better suited for music. I pulled my A9's and put them in my 2 channel rig and was quite surprised at how good they can really sound, but I still found them to be a little fatiguing after awhile..

Thank you for this very clear, correct, and insightful link! I understand whats going with the hook up process and why its done that way, I was simply curious about what the BS they feed us poor saps when it comes to all this Bi-Amping with AVR's (which with help from everyone here I understand better now). I also was wondering if my crazy experiment would work. I really love that guide there, I was looking for something that had all the info there on one page so clear and easy to understand ;)

So after some messing around, I decided to see what a simpler Bi-Amping setup would sound like but with one AVR for the lows, and the other for the highs, and from my db meter I was able to squeeze 6 more db's from the new setup. lol. Not anything to write home about but the volume did change at least. The speakers seem to have more depth too, all that from using two separate AVR's a little better.

Before I was using one AVR in Bi-Amping mode for the fronts but now having the lows on one amp and the highs on the other it seems a tiny bit better. But just that, tiny lol. I apprecieate everyone's input and I think Im just going to have to wait until I can afford a real amp to know the difference. For now I have to see what I can do with my current setup, I better re-calibrate these suckers too :)

I think I may go for a warmer sounding amp as highs tend to crack my ear drum open too much lol. I hope I can get ahold of a Parasound HCA-2200II or HCA-3500 down the road. If anyone else has any suggestions with my current new setup Im all ears, and for those who dropped by to stear me in the right direction, my hat goes off to guys ;) Until next time...

Look for the 1200 or 1500 Parasound amps, Cheaper and will do what you need nicely.

    I paid $225 for a 225 watt/350 watt B&K 2 channel amp. I think I might have robbed the guy though.
Great price indeed...but these were manufactured from 1998-2000 with a $1300 list price. $300-$350 is the most I would pay.....and the four large can 15000uF 75V Computer Grade High Temp caps are in danger of drying out given the age. Parts alone will be about $100. Been looking for on the the $200+ range for a bit....I hope we are still on.

Come, what are you doing? Sell one of those AVR's and buy an amp!

I would, but the person that gave them to me said to "Make good use of these receivers..." shortly before passing away, so I think I will use one in a different room once I can finally afford a real amp for the main system. In a perfect world I would sell one otherwise for sure ;)

Yep, I think that was the intent, to use both receivers in different systems/rooms, not the same one. Either way, good luck to you and let us know how it all turns out for ya.

Wasn't there a story or video of some guy that burnt down his house or trailer doing something crazy like this??

I think that guy had a bunch of crap hooked up though if I remember right..

Hey maybe we will get another guy cutting a hole in a cardboard box again  looking for black paint...
