That 50% Stat applies to all kids attending high school in this country....buts lets focus on paying student athletes a salary to even further minimize the value of a college eduction in society. The other day I saw a commercial for a private high school in Florida which targets and caters to high school athletes, for clueless parents and kids who believe their kids have a chance in h e double hockey sticks at making a career out of athletic endeviors. Truly sad...We have this issue in the high schools as well. Don't think they get to college and magically don't know how to read or write. Over 50% of my student population is failing my class and we have 3 weeks before finals. Do you really think 50% of my students can fail and I not lose my job?
