    Every Android/iPhone app that controls a piece of equipment means that the piece of the equipment needs to be on your network, either via wifi or ethernet.

    Ya. Moot point if i cant the unit to read my hard drive. Installed latest firmware and that didnt help. Trying to instal latest usb driver now, but keeps saying instillation failed. Pain in the ****.

    Dont really have the time to keep calling pioneer, reinstall this and that. Gonna send it back, take my lumps, and regroup :)

    If you're wanting wireless or connected HDD music, look at the Oppo 103.

    I haven't pulled the trigger on any of these units due to the fact I basically already have what I need in just using my computer as my music source.

    I would however like a full review on this N50 if you wouldn't mind.

    103 has an app.
    I "believe" you can use it as a pre, but I'm not certain.

    I can't give a review on the N50 as I am sending it back. Not a slam on the unit, just don't work for what I need it to do. I did play some music through the front usb port via thumb drive, and it sounded very good. The restorer setting works great, enhancing compressed files.

    I downloaded the latest firmware and it wouldn't read my hard drive. Attempts to download a usb driver via the Pioneer website were unsucessful as well. Probably doing something wrong, who knows, but I just want something plug and play that sounds good and that I can control from my phone

    Well then, the Onkyo route I mentioned probably wouldn't be a winner either. The app is slow as molasses, and no way to set up a Queue and shuffle. Makes me appreciate the Cambridge SM6 all the more. Darn thing is working like a beast now.
