Craigslist fruitcake or failed attempt at humor?

I listed my Pioneer VSX 821K on CL last week and the first response I got for it was this:
"A nice looking receiver here and yes I would like to see it working, if possible we can do it right there at your place. I would like to meet to see it working Sunday if possible. But any day next week is ok with me and most any time will be fine, just work it into your schedule. Please wash your hands if you have to handle it, on the other hand put some gloves on before handling it please. The picture of it on craigs list had a lot of your dirty ol' finger prints all over it and a few dog foot prints on it also. This receiver looks like a herd of sheep trampled on it going to the slaughter house. Have you not been taking good care of it ? "
The receiver is immaculate. So two questions, is this guy a nut or failed comedian, and would you give him your address?
For the record, I didn't and I have a sale pending with someone else since I got this.

Ask him if since you went to the effort of donning some gloves, he'd permit you to perform a check on his prostate.............
-
I didn't respond, of course. I have sold about a dozen times on CL in the past couple years and that's the strangest message I have gotten.
And gdb, to greatly paraphrase Tony Soprano "I wouldn't even wag a finger in his face". -
What's wrong with a guy wanting to by clean merchandise? If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Must be the season. Tried to buy a watch- guy kept flaking out.
5 minutes away but he just wouldn't commit to a time.
No wonder he has had 3 of them listed for two months.

I'd call him. Could be entertaining. Be sure to record the convo and share. So long as you're in a state that allows that. Then share it here.Up

I call him and then he has my number. Not going to happen. But it's an interesting idea. I actually expected to get another email from him by now.

Ehh, just email him... what's the worst that could happen...
-
I was thinking I would email him once the receiver is actually sold (supposed to be Friday evening), and wait for a response. Once I close the ad, my email link goes away anyway.
Here's a link to the ad, if you want to see the fingerprints, paw prints and sheep tracks. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/ele/4985315936.html -
Is that a dead mouse inside the case? Or is it still alive?Vinyl, the final frontier...

Dial *67 before his number. It will hide yours.
Have fun now.

He's being an idiot plainly. Looks like a pretty good picture to me.
most of the time 1st issue should be the last issue with a CL buyer.
Otherwise you may end up escorting somebody out of your house
at gunpoint. too many of these guys are running a scam, or worse, nuts."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others.
