    Doubt it helps, but I turned off my Airplay DLNA to make sure its presence wasn't giving me a false positive. Spotify-to-Spotify is still working. Device shows up as "Craig's Fire TV". When I was connecting using DLNA (to run Tidal), the device showed up as "FireTV@48".

    I would expect that once you start using the pro app that Skip suggested, everything will meet your expectations. I have DLNA capabilities on my AVR that is stupid easy to use, but the Fire TV DLNA sounds better for some reason than streaming directly to Yammy. Since I started using the pro app I never use the net functions on my AVR. It is easy to use and sounds great. The Fire TV has some fantastic hardware (not stick) that will continue to improve for quite some time. I would like to see the Spotify app get fixed sooner rather than later, though. At this point I have resorted to using the PS3 to stream spotify to the HT.

    The is no update, $hit is still broke and doesn't work. T-minus 2 days until return process starts.
    I'm at the point where I will start spotify premium with my PC, and run it with my phone. Guess I can survive with that for now. Wish the Fire had a client instead of a bridge.....

    I've had 4 rum and cokes....thats my pregame! :p

    VC, im going for simplicity and these round about ways aren't what im looking for. My wife use this when cooking and if i add extra steps that even confuse me, it becomes moot. I need the, turn on the amp, turn on the program, make music. That's all.

    I wish mine worked on my end like butter but the reality is, it does not. I'm not saying the Fire is a bad product. I'm just saying it doesn't work for me. Like i've stated, i have 2 days to un-F this situation before i throw in the towel and go back to tried and true.

    I still thank you all for the help. Others have/will read this thread and decide for themselves which way to go.

    Yep, premium only. I think that's also needed for 320 IIRC.

    Then i'm screwed either way. I should cancel my Premium and go elsewhere.
    I could run Pandora and cut my losses but I already have an AppleTv that has Pandora which i know works. Or just leave my PC and a 10 USB cable in the mix and deal with it.

    The Airplay DLNA works for me on pretty much anything; but, on Tidal is sometimes sluggish.

    The problem with Airplay is im an android/pc user. You have to download 3rd party software to make it work. I tried the Airfoil program. My wife and I could noticeably hear a static in the sound. Scrapped it immediately.

    You could try the $3 SBPlayer app that makes the Fire a Squeezebox Touch in all ways except Tidal streaming directly. You'd have to download the Squeezebox controller LMS and could control music from the PC where the LMS resides or your phone using Squeezebox or Peng app. This would include streaming Spotify, Pandora, Linn, pretty much all but Tidal. Personally, I'd probably cut bait.

    Yes you do need the premium sub. but that does not change the fact that the app is currently broken. I confirmed that with Amazon customer service yesterday. My wife and I both have separate spotify premium subs, neither will connect completely with any of our fire tvs. It may not have issues with all devices but her gs5 and my HTC m8 both running lollipop will no longer connect.

    From the Airplay DLNA page: "This is a receiver installed on Android devices such as Boxes or TVs to receive media sent from your Apple devices, PC, and Android devices via AirPlay or DLNA protocol."

    Not sure why it wouldn't be working for you or why 3rd party software would be req'd. Regardless, Airfoil doesn't sound to me like it is applicable here. Did you try sending a song from Android's media player after starting Airplay? I'm not familiar with Android phones, but I would expect to see the Airplay button on Play or whatever it's called.

    Alright, with reading about 20 threads/articles, for some ungody reason, spotify will not release the "connect" feature for the desktop app. There is no reasonable explanation so like previously stated, i will hook my computer back up via USB cable and run as normal.

    Can't say we didn't try.

    Working here on standalone PC app. I know you've gotta be very frustrated. This is the kind of time-eating stuff that makes me appreciate the frustration-free design of Sonos. Sorry I couldn't help.

    I took this to mean he has Premium. I am not on a "damn Sonos high horse". I was trying to help him all last night and this morning.

    I had a Sonos (two ones in stero) for awhile buy my Sister stole it... so I don't know anything about it anymore as you would have to ask her.

    I also have used the desktop app numerous times to stream spotify to my fire tv's. I do hope they get this app fixed soon though. I am currently using the ps3 to stream spotify, which is another option if you have one laying around.

    Mine is working. I deleted the app data and cache, playing from pc now.

    Have you tried using the smartphone spotify app? I know that isn't what you want to do but it may get it to work until the app gets fixed. I grabbed my old GS3 and it connected right away. My pc app didn't recognize the fire tv until my old samsung connected, the the pc app and HTC worked again. Just saying this might be a work around until the app is repaired.

    I have spotify premium. There, now that takes all the guess work out of reading cryptic posts.
    What you guys are showing is exactly what i want to do but for some reason, it will not work. I have tried, and tried. I can't even get the Fire TV to show up in the list. My phones will not connect either which i find suspect. My return label is printed, but i won't be able to get to a UPS until saturday which means, 5 days now to figure this damn box out.

    The phones go into an endless loop of "Hmm, there is a problem".
    Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!
