Bummer at least you still got the stylus from the red right, just less bass but after the 2nd album what was your impressions? I got big hands and can slide my albums out using my middle finger and thumb then holding with both hands with out touching nothing but the sides while putting it on the platter. Sorry to hear about your short lived present to yourself.

I still have the red and put it back on right away, as for the sound of the blue I think it had a lot more bass - not sure about the mid's and highs as I was going to play some Supertramp and SteelyDan to check it, and I was only using my PSB bookies when it happened and had not got to play it using my Monitor 10's or RTiA7's.

Sorry to hear this Voltz. I once flipped a record and dropped it. Was devastated because it was a copy of "The Band" from MFSL. It put one BIG scratch across one side but nothing like your loss. :s

  • So true. It was more shock.
Like when he went downstairs and whipped it out and pee'd on the floor
    or
when he puked Pea soup or
when he turned his head 360 degrees.
Didn't make any sense until I found the tattoo behind the neck hairline.

Hate to hear of your latest bad luck, there is a feeling from the tips of your toes to your scalp when something like that happens, I remember well finishing the last piece of trim for the last vinyl window of an entire house I had installed for my mom.

got careless for a half of a second as I was bringin my left hand back across the portable table saw.

before I could react, my middle finger my index finger and half my thumb were all but severed.

I still remember looking down and seeing my fingers dangling and kept on by skin and the tendons on the palm side of my hand (A true blessing as I later found out for functioning purposes)

I just kept telling myself this did not just happen, and tried to figure a way to turn off the saw which was laying on the driveway.

Why such a problem to turn the thing off?

I was close to passing out and just knew if I bent over to turn it off, they would find me with a mangled hand and a saw blade embedded deep in my skull, and boy how would they piece those events together in a way that made sense.

Anyway, after turnin it off wrapping my hand in my shirt, I drove myself to the emergency room, and even had the wherewithal to place my handicapped card on the mirror, and lock the truck up.

While I cant say that **** up a nice piece of audio gear is quite the same, from experience, I trust that the reaction comes from the same part of the brain.

A long winded way to say, Im truly sorry a bad thing happened to someone I truly believe to be a good man.

P.S. despite anothers opinion here on CP, I did not sever my fingers and part of my thumb to get some pain pills, just in case he is still thinkin along those lines.

I guess I'm in good company, I ran skill saw across my thigh a few years ago. If it had been a few inches to the right, I'd be a capon :)

Wow... hate to hear you guys had to go through that kind of pain... that is why I can laugh about losing a cartridge like that as it so trivial in comparison - even though nobody like throwing money away...it only money not life or limbs.

Glad you were able to dress up you hand and get to a emergency room Scotty, many would have just passed out.

My right hand took similar abuse courtesy of an F/A-18. I was luck in that they saved all 4 fingers on my right hand. I have another story about a stainless steel watch band turning into instant solder when a wrench I was using slipped and turned a 24v battery into an arc welder.

A good reminder to NOT wear any rings, watches etc., when working with or around live electrical circuits, AC or DC. I once partially melted my Grandfather's ring, while working near the battery on my car. Luckily I escaped with only 1st degree burns.

Well I did cut the tip of of my thumb on the band saw at work....they sowed it back on said it would turn black die & fall off but promote growth underneath.
it work and my tip grew back and you have to look really hard to see the difference.

now it just feels like I have glue on the tip of my thumb.
