Monitor 5B crossover help

New here and just acquired a nice pair of Monitor 5Bs. So far I don't mind the SL2000 tweeters, but we'll see how I feel after the crossover rebuild. I'm getting together parts to replace the caps/resistors, and need some guidance on a couple things:
1) Polyswitch - should I remove it? If so, is it best to add a resistor in place, or just a jumper wire and then replace the original 2 ohm resistor with a higher value? Is the polyswitch the component just above/right of the resistor in my picture?
2) I have used Mills resistors and Solen caps in the past for other speakers, and planned to do the same on these - unless there is another preferred option?
Thanks in advance

The Polyswitch should be removed, and replaced with a .5 ohm Mills MRA-12 Resistor. The 2 ohm as well. You can also replace the 2 ohm with a 2.5 ohm Mills, and install a jumper. The Solen Fast Caps are entry level. They are better than what's in there now, but better caps such as Sonicaps or Clarity ESAs will bring a smile to your face. The drop-in replacement for the God-awful SL2000 Tweeter, is the RDO-194-1, which is a fine Tweeter, however, I would also urge you to consider the SL3000 Modification, which allows you to use the improved RDO-198-1 Tweeters. The 198s combined with better caps will bring those 5Bs light years ahead of where they are now.Home Theater/2 Channel:
