Well, I got the Energy RC-10 and I have to say that I'm impressed.
Even my better half said, "they have a richer sound than the other ones." The other ones being the Polk Audio RTi6.
I can understand why people are impressed by the Pioneers, given their size alone. The RC-10 is smaller than the RTi6, but the sound from the RC-10 is bigger and it definitely produces a lot of detail. It's not a fatiguing speaker to listen to, which was surprising, given the metal dome tweeter.
The RC-10 are in the living room because the living room requires a "larger" speaker to fill up a larger space. The living room also opens into a kitchenette in one corner, further expanding the space to be filled by the speakers.
Given their higher sensitivity > the Polks, I expected them to play louder, given the same amplification, but there's more to it than that. Even at low volumes, the Energy speakers fill the room with sound that is quite remarkable.
The cabinets on the Energy speakers are much nicer than those on the Polks. I like the magnetic grill attachments too, but I'm not using the grills. These are very attractive speakers IMHO.
I couldn't quite get them 2 get from the back wall but it's pretty close.
If / when these go on sale again, I might have to pick up another pair and the matching center.
In my apartment, no sub is needed, and that is exactly what I was looking for in the speakers for the bedroom & the living room. I'm not saying I have earth shattering lows from these bookshelf speakers. What I am saying is that they produce exactly what I need considering where I'm at, and that is what I was after all along.
Thanks again for all the opinions and input. Very much appreciated.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

I have had the Pioneers for a while now. I picked them up at BB for $77.00 price match. Very cheap and cheerful for me. They are still stock. They spend more time on my 24" stands in a secondary system than a free pair of Totem Mites, Modified Insignia's and a pair of DIY Nano Neo's. They sound very good for some reason in my bedroom. They are very pleasant to listen to and image very well. I have enough bass that I stopped using a sub . I am often surprised by the bass given the little 4" driver. I hope to hear Jesse's modded pair sometime.I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

After having both the RTi6 and the RC-10 for a little while now, I can definitely say that these two purchases worked out well for me.
For the heck of it, I swapped them out between the two different rooms that they are in, then I put them back where they started.
Not surprisingly, the RC-10 sounds good in both rooms, but they do sound better in the living room.
However, the RTi6 only sound good in the bedroom.
When I put the RTi6 in the living room, the bottom end pretty much disappeared. I suppose that if I played around with their placement, I could probably coax better sound reproduction out of them, but why bother?
Like I said, the RTi6 sound very good in the bedroom, so that is where they will stay.
The RC-10 sound really good in both rooms, but they definitely sound better in the living room.
I may swap out the vintage Technics SA-500 that's in the living room at a future date but, for now, everything is playing well together and getting along just fine.
If I do swap it out with a Marantz AVR, I will look into getting the matching center for the RC-10 as well.
Thankfully, no sub is needed, for me, in either room. I'm getting enough in the low end to keep me happy without having to add a sub.
Thanks again for all the input!

I have the same SA-500 receiver somewhere in the basement.
Needs bias adjustment and my multimeter is fried so had to wait...
